She's a prize! Pretty Woman Julia Roberts totes the winnings as she enjoys family day at Malibu carnival with her kids

Julia Roberts may be an award-winning A-list star, but she's proven herself to be a hands-on mother on more occasions that one can count.

The 47-year-old actress wasn't above doing the heavy toting as she enjoyed a fun-filled time at a carnival in Malibu, California with her three children on Friday.

Julia was seen with her arms crammed full of the toys twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and Henry had won at the game booths, along with their jackets.

The Erin Brockovich star didn't bat an eyelid, trudging through the grounds with her famous pout an her reddish-brown locks falling around her shouldes.

Among the toys she carrie were a smiling tiger and a plastic baseball bat.

For this outing, Julia was make-up free and casually clad in navy jeans an a comfortable denim blouse, along with rugged taupe suede boots.

Toughen up with Julia's Frye ankle boots

Julia Roberts took her kids to a carnival in Malibu on Friday and the Hollywood Oscar-winner could have been any other mom. We love it when A-listers do everyday things like this and Julia, recently snapped at the beach and at the grocery store, gives us our fair share of fun.

We also like her penchant for every day pieces. Not one of the I-wouldn't-be-caught-dead-in-anything-but-designer tribe, Julia often goes for more mainstream contemporary brands. To wit, check out her motorcycle boots with the perfect vintage patina. They're by Frye, the Enginner 8R in Charcoal Old Town, and totally within reach for $268.

A pair of shades concealed those bright brown eyes while she passed kiosks selling clothes and boho-style bags with her youngest son Henry, eight, and her elder set, Hazel and Phinnaeus, who turn 11 years old in November.

The kids were joined by friends and Julia had some grown-up company as well.

Julia - whose husband Danny Moder wasn't spotted on this excursion - chatted amicably with a female companion.

It's been a busy summer for the Pretty Woman star, who recently wrapped work on the thriller Secret In Their Eyes.

While Danny apparently skipped Friday's festivity, Roberts revealed in an interview with Entetainment Weekly that it was 'crucial' to have him close on the Pasadena, California movie set.

Julia, whose mother Betty Lou died during the production, had to dive deep emotionally while shooting a scene in which her character finds her teen daughter's lifeless body in a dumpster.

'I don't know if I would have been as willing to make myself that vulnerable if it weren't for the fact that the safest place I know in the world is across the room,' Julia said of Danny, who was cinematographer on the film.

Julia plays Jess, an FBI investigator, who has to relive the horrific details of her daughter's murder when a new lead is found 13 years later.

'When it was finally all over, I'm getting a lot of hugs and a lot of tissues and a lot of "Are you okay?"s and there's a number of people broken up…and then the swarm of kindness kind of shifted from me over to Danny, like, "Are you okay?!"'

Secret In Their Eyes, which is based on the novel by Eduardo Sacheri, also stars Nicole Kidman, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Dean Noris and Michael Kelly, and is set to bow in US theatres on November 20 of this year.
