Mass. Chiefs of Police Association comes together in Sutton, raises money for cancer

SUTTON – The Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association recently announced that the Jimmy Fund will receive $36,000 from the 26th annual Ralph Lepore Jimmy Fund Golf Tournament, held Aug. 10 at Pleasant Valley Country Club.

Generous donations and auction participants helped members of the foundation raise an additional $4,000 over last year’s total of $32,162.

“It has been another successful year for golfers at the tournament, who took time out of their busy schedules to support the Jimmy Fund,” said Melrose Police Chief

Michael Lyle, who has organized the tournament for the past two years. “We certainly appreciate all of the contributions, which go to support an extremely worthy organization.”

The Jimmy Fund, which supports ground-breaking cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber, is the primary charitable organization of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association. This year, their tournament brought in just under $54,000 in net proceeds, which, after expenses, translates to a $36,000 donation to the Jimmy Fund.
