I'll toast to that! Hollywood vets Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin clink glasses on set of Going In Style in Brooklyn park

They are three of Hollywood's most acclaimed actors, but for their next movie this trio is going for laughs.

Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin were seen smiling as they clinked glasses outside Brooklyn's Prospect Park Boathouse on Wednesday while shooting a scene for their comedy Going In Style.

The 78-year-old Freeman leaned in with a mixed cocktail as he cheered 82-year-old Caine, holding a brandy, and 81-year-old Arkin, who raised a glass of champagne.

All three men wore dark grey suits with white shirts and matching black ties, making it seem as if they were collected for a wedding.

Later the three were seen looking over the bridge. While Oscar-winning Freeman smiled, Caine appeared morose.

In yet another image, Morgan looked up at the sky as he put a foot on the bridge while Michael looked deep in thought.

Also seen filming that day was co-star Joey King.

The 16-year-old was wearing a green sleeveless summer dress with a wide elastic belt as she did what appeared to be a little dance on the steps of a reception.

The film's other female co-star Ann-Margret, 74, was not spied.

The director is Zach Braff of Scrubs fame.

On Tuesday, Freeman wore a wide grin as he made a daring escape - while riding on a mobility scooter - on the set of the film.

He held up a smoke-making box to distract police that chased after him.

It was something of a complicated move for the actor, who was riding in the front basket of the scooter driven by Michael.

The cloud of smoke was not, however, Morgan's only defense.

He had a carton of eggs stuffed in his shirt as well.

Casual style prevailed for the two actors, both of whom wore baseball caps - Yankees for Michael and Mets for Morgan - to help conceal their identities.

While the stars seemed committed to their bizarre chase scene, there did seem to be some danger - stunt doubles were spotted stepping in at one point.

Going In Style is a remake of a 1979 movie that focuses on a trio of elderly friends planning and executing a heist.

Arkin plays the third of the friends who want to take revenge on the company that cancelled their pensions after a move overseas.

All three of the film's stars are among acting's most successful men - their combined total of 14 Oscar nominations have resulted in wins for each of them.

Going In Style will be released in May 2016.

Filming on the comedy is likely a welcome distraction for Morgan, who recently experienced a major personal tragedy.
