Reese Witherspoon's week started with a high-flying stunt on Neil Patrick Harris' live variety show Best Time Ever.

The 39-year-old actress was back in control as she strolled to a power lunch in Beverly Hills on Friday.

Reese alighted from her black SUV in a black wrap-around mini-skirt that displayed her toned legs to perfection and was matched with a brilliantly flowered blouse.

The becoming top featured a cluster of red petals against a navy background, black collar and sheer white short sleeves.

If that combination wasn't enough to dazzle, Reese added a pair of black leather booties and a black white-trimmed shoulder bag.

A punch of red lipstick and designer shades made her appearance even more arresting as she greeted her friend in front the eatery with a hug.

Reese Witherspoon is one of the latest celebrities to unleash a clothing label onto the fashion world.

Witherspoon participated in a huge obstacle course that saw her hanging from a crane 15-storeys high in the air in the Skyscraper challenge against the host.

Reese even scolded Harris - who beat her in a previous challenge - for not fully revealing what she had signed up for.

'Neil I am going to bury you,' Reese said confidently before admitting she was scared of heights as they were lifted high into the air.

'Well you probably should have read the rider,' Harris told her, adding: 'Is this a good time to say thank you for doing this as my first guest announcer?'

'I'm not sure this is what I signed up for,' Reese shouted back.

By Thursday, the mother-of-three was back in fighting form as she enjoyed an invigorating jog in Los Angeles with a female companion.
