Despite the scary situation, Thorne shared a photo to Instagram that appeared to show the trio of young celebrities to be in good spirits while relaxing in large massage chairs in the airport.

It seems as though the relaxing moment didn't last long as Thorne, who is 17 years old, took to Twitter hours after sharing the photo and slammed Virgin Atlantic for leaving them 'stranded at the airport for 14 hours with no where to rest and no other options for flight.'

The actress, who is also a singer and model, said on Twitter that Virgin Atlantic 'is the worst airlines in the history of airlines' and that she 'strongly' suggests people to 'never ever fly with them.'

The 'My Own Worst Enemy' star tweeted to her more than six million followers that the airline 'risked' their lives 'with poor airport skills' and left them to 'fend' for themselves.

She also pointed out that there were several other flight options and suggested that Virgin Atlantic 'refund' her 'upper class ticket' so that she could purchase a flight on American Airlines.

Speaking to Mail Online, Thorne shared she tweeted about her experience because she knows other customers were affected by the airline's actions.

She said that the airline apologized to her, but did not offer her a refund and instead booked her on a flight that departed JFK later in the evening on Saturday.

Thorne added that her intention was 'never to make a fuss' and to just get the situation resolved.

Another passenger, who was on his way home to London, told PIX11 that 'it looks like ground staff weren't paying attention' at the time of the incident.

The passenger said the 'plane shuddered as it hit the wall.'

Another passenger Carson Ross, 29, shared with the New York Post what it felt like on the plane when the wing tip hit the fence.

'The plane was backing out... about 50 feet I felt a jolt and the engine cut off right away,' Ross said.

'We sat for an hour and the story kept flip-flopping.

'Finally they said they are bringing stairs and we are to get off because they don't want to move the plane.'

Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman said the 276 people on board were bused back to the terminal.

A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said the crash was a cause of 'a miscalculation by the tug'.

'The VS26 departing from JFK to London Heathrow today returned to the gate after a miscalculation by the tug caused minor damage to one of its wing tips.

'All customers have disembarked the aircraft and our teams are working hard to get our customers on their way as soon as possible.

'Safety is our number one priority and we would like to apologize for the delay and any inconvenience caused.'

Aviation expert Phil Derner told the New York Post that the incident was 'the most minor of incidents in aviation.'

'It's like bumping the curb with your tire when you're parallel parking,' Derner said.

A number of passengers posted photos to Twitter showing the plane's right wing tip pushed up against the fence.

Flight 26 had been scheduled to depart for London at 8.15am.
