Former Coronation Street actor Oliver Mellor has reportedly given cricketer Shane Warne a piece of his mind for sending his fiancée Rhian Sugden a string of messages.

The Sun claims the 46-year-old sportsman received a stern warning from the actor, 34, after he 'pestered' the glamour model requesting a meet up.

In the alleged exchange, which is said to have taken place last week, Mellor reportedly labelled Warne 'inappropriate' and told him to 'get the hint'.

Mellor is said to have taken things into his own hands after Shane, who first contacted Rhian via Twitter, continued to message his better half despite her telling him she was engaged.

According to the publication, Oliver told Warne: 'Not sure why a 46 year old man who she has never met... would want to meet up with her, other than to be inappropriate.

'Get the hint and find somebody single to bombard with messages.'

Meanwhile Australian cricket star Shane has been at the centre of numerous romantic scandals, including a notorious three-year dalliance with model and Hollywood star Elizabeth Hurley.

Just a week after Liz and Shane went public with their relationship in 2010, reports surfaced that the British model had dumped the cricketer after he was caught messaging Melbourne businesswoman, Adele Angeleri, at the same time he was romancing Liz. 

It's alleged the media personality sent over 100 texts to the mother-of-two, pursuing her after she sent him a jacket from her leather store, located across the road from the Shane Warne Foundation offices in Brighton.

A friend of Adele's told British tabloid News of The World that her friend was flattered by the attention although, didn't take it any further.

Again in 2005, the star cricketer was alleged to have sent explicit sms's to a 22-year-old Wellington woman whilst on tour in New Zealand.

After being grilled by her 2DayFM Breakfast co-hosts Jules Lund and Merrick Watts, Sophie laughingly implied that the two kissed whilst out in London together.

The cricket player denied this was the case, telling KIIS FM breakfast duo, Kyle & Jackie O, 'that's not true, we've been friends for ages' and that he's happily in a relationship with Emily.

Sophie appeared to fire back later the same day, tweeting a mysterious message which simply said 'I don't lie.'

The blonde's post was accompanied a photo of the pair kissing, while the huge sparkler could be seen on her left hand.

Oliver and Rhian's engagement came just one year after news of his alleged five-month affair with co-star Kym Marsh, who was then married to Jamie Lomas, surfaced.
