About the Embassy

Kingdom of Sweden has been one of the first countries that has recognized the Republic of Kosovo. The Government of Sweden took the decision to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kosovo on March 4, 2008. Republic of Kosovo considers the Kingdom of Sweden as a partner and friendly country, and as an important supporter.

On February 10, 2009, the President of the Republic of Kosovo has decreed the establishment of the Kosovo's Embassy in the Kingdom of Sweden. The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo to the Kingdom of Sweden was opened on December 15, 2009. Mr. Lulzim Peci was accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kosovo to the Kingdom of Sweden with the act of presentation of the Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on 04 February 2010.

The main function of the Embassy is representation of the Republic of Kosovo in the Kingdom of Sweden through the promotion and development of bilateral relations in all fields of mutual interest. The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Stockholm provides also consular services through its Consular Section.
