Former TOWIE star Maria Fowler announces she is pregnant with her first baby following whirlwind romance with BMX racer Kelvin Batey

Maria Fowler has announced she and boyfriend Kelvin Batey are expecting their first baby, with the former TOWIE star, 29, revealing her special news in a Mother's Day Twitter message.

She posted a picture of her and her boyfriend's Converse trainers, with a third baby-sized pair, alongside their pet dog, David.

Maria wrote: 'As its Mother's Day, @KelvinBatey555 and I are pleased to announce a new addition is on its way later this year.'

Kelvin uploaded the same image, adding: 'Really looking forward to finally filling these shoes later this year. So happy and proud of @MariaFowler.'

Maria has been dating BMX racer Kelvin since August last year and recently said of him:

'This beautiful, kind talented human. I don't want to be one of those that posts my relationship all over here but I never thought I would find someone like this such an honest, loyal, kind, gentleman. I'm very lucky.'

She wrote alongside this message: 'As its Mother's Day, @KelvinBatey555 and I are pleased to announce a new addition is on its way later this year'

Former TOWIE co-star Amy Childs, tweeted her, writing: 'Congratulations babe,' adding a series of kissing face emojis.

Ex On The Beach star Cami Li and TOWIE star Mario Falcone were also quick to send tweets.Cami Li simply wrote: 'Congratulations!', while Mario added: 'congratulating guys xxx' [sic].

Maria has previously dated her TOWIE co-star Mick Norcross, as well as footballer Lee Croft.

Since leaving TOWIE, model Maria has set up her own business, as owner of professional make-up brush brand Fierce Face.

Last June, Maria revealed she was spurred into action after a pal at the gym mistakenly thought she was pregnant because she had put on a staggering 16lbs in a month.

The former TOWIE star slimmed down from 10st 8lb to 9st by cutting out carbohydrates and switching to a high protein diet.

'I was horrified by my body after I came back from trips to New York and Dubai where I put on 16lbs,' she admitted. 'I had rolls of fat around my tummy and more muffin tops than a cake shop. I felt bloated and ugly.

'I had really let myself go when I was away. I was nearly in tears when I got on the scales and realised that I had put on 16lbs in month. It was the most destructive bingeing I've ever experienced. I will never make that mistake again.'

She also posted this cute snap and wrote: 'Absolutely adore this from @mamasandpapas for our new baby just can't wait to meet him/her #WelcomeToTheWorld ing forward to finally filling these shoes later this year'
