L' Ange ()

Review Summary

Five sequences are connected by the strobe-like effects of an hypnotic journey through corridors and along stairways. A man lunges repeatedly with a saber at a hanging doll--or is it a child? A woman? A domestic scene straight from a Dutch genre painting is shattered by a smashed jug of milk. A man is in a bathtub comically scrubbing; a baroque ballet of bureaucratic librarians; a nude woman in a cage on a deserted plain, threatened or rescued by approaching figures. The enigmatic movements of the characters become darkly ritualistic as they are obsessively repeated. ~ Baseline StudioSystems
