A four-year-old boy was hit by a boat and killed on Sunday after he fell into a lake in California.
Gideon Zilberstein was on a pleasure boat that pulled his mother Jesse Zilberstein, while she was water-skiing on San Bernardino County's Lake Arrowhead, the sheriff's department said.
When Jesse fell, the boat turned around and struck Gideon who had fallen over the side, according to Sheriff's Deputy Oliva Bozek.

Two families were on the boat when Gideon fell into the lake at around 4.20pm, Bozek said.
'When the skier fell, the boat operator turned to retrieve the skier. The child fell over the side and was struck by the boat,' Bozek told the LA Times.
The adult male driving the boat was not named, although he and Gideon's father Amit Zilberstein jumped into the water to save the boy, who suffered traumatic injuries.
Authorities from the Arrowhead Lake Association as well as the fire department arrived within minutes and pronounced the four-year-old dead on the scene at 4.33pm.
An investigation is ongoing, and a statement released by sheriff's coroner John McMahon said intoxication did not appear to be a factor in the incident.
Authorities also found that all the children on the boat were wearing 'personal flotation devices'.
Gideon's funeral arrangements on Tuesday were announced in a post on Facebook, with a dress code promoting 'anything fancy or sparkly' in honor of the young boy (pictured)
