He's been focusing on his brand new Amazon motoring show, The Grand Tour, in recent months.

But Jeremy Clarkson found the time to enjoy a night out in London on Tuesday, visiting private members club Albert Club with journalist Charlotte Edwardes.

The TV presenter, 56, and his friend were seen leaving the exclusive venue together alongside a male pal.

Jeremy and the blonde were seen laughing and smiling as they exited the venue, with his companion clutching a large manuscript under one arm.

The former Top Gear host appeared in good spirits, dressed smartly for his evening on the town in a grey suit jacket and dark trousers.

Charlotte was clad in a smart tweed coat set off with leather ankle boots.

There is no indication the rendez-vous was of a romantic nature and the pair appeared to have had a successful meeting.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Clarkson, who declined to comment.  

Just last month, Jeremy was seen checking into the intimate Chewton Glen Tree House hotel in The New Forest at the weekend, alongside a pretty brunette companion. 

Onlookers at the hotel revealed to Mirror Online: 'Jeremy and his companion were laughing, joking and having a great time. Chewton Glen is a romantic place to come and they certainly looked like they were enjoying each other’s company.'

However their private, quiet stay was somewhat interrupted - with EastEnders star Danny Dyer hosting his wedding at the venue the same weekend.

A further source revealed: 'He was laughing about how he tried to go away for a quiet weekend and ended up walking on to the set of EastEnders.

Jeremy fuelled further rumours of a romance with the appearance, after he and the same brunette were seen enjoying an al-fresco lunch in London in July.

The potential romance comes after Jeremy split from his wife of 22 years Frances Cain, with her reportedly filing divorce proceedings in April 2014.

Frances, as his former manager, has been a key part in the ascent of Jeremy's career, turning him into a global motoring TV icon thanks to his role on BBC's Top Gear, from which he was sacked last year.

And, although they have split, they are still said to be on very good terms with each other following their over 20 years of marriage.

Last October, it was reported that Jeremy had moved back to the home he had shared with his former wife and children - they are parents to a teenage daughters Emily, Katya, and son Finlo - in Chipping Norton.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the 55-year-old had moved back to the country estate, and spent his 'weekends and down-time at a guest cottage in the grounds in Chipping Norton.'

The paper added, at the time: 'He is still close to wife of 22 years Frances Cain and likes to pop to the main house for meals with her and their three children.'

It was also reported that his rumoured girlfriend of the time Phillipa Sage, who allegedly had an affair with Jeremy in 2011 leading to his marriage split, joined him for the stay but at a discreet distance.

Events organiser and long-time friend Phillipa first became a public part of Jeremy's life when she was spotted sharing a kiss with the former Top Gear host in Greece in 2013.

Charlotte meanwhile was linked to ITV political editor Robert Peston this Spring.

Robert was rumoured to have found love again with his friend of a decade, four years after the tragic death of his beloved wife left him devastated.

The first hint they might be more than just friends came when the two were pictured walking in London together last November, apparently deep in conversation.

In an interview with the Telegraph, Peston refused to go as far as to confirm he was dating Ms Edwardes, who he met while working for the newspaper, but did reveal: ‘She is brilliant and funny, and we are very close.'

The BBC's former economics editor, who left the broadcaster last year, has previously spoken of how difficult he found the months and years after wife Sian Busby's death, losing weight and even developing an extreme form of arthritis.

Sian died of lung cancer, despite never having smoked, which left Peston and sons Max and Simon bereft. The couple were married for 14 years, having first dated at university before splitting up. 

Jeremy is currently filming new car show The Grand Tour, alongside original Top Gear presenters Richard Hammond and James May, due for release on Amazon Prime this autumn.
