'I won't quit!': Ed Balls vows to 'respect' Strictly voters and dance on... as he recreates his Gangnam Style routine with Lorraine Kelly

With the Strictly final fast approaching, some viewers feel Ed Balls' continued presence on the dancefloor is undermining the show's credibility.

But the politician, 49, is adamant he won't 'do a John Sergeant' and be forced off the dancefloor, during an interview with Lorraine Kelly on Tuesday.

Ed said: 'I think I've got to be respectful to people voting for me. I'm trying really hard and trying to get better every week.

'I'd love to get a seven from Craig or an eight from Len.'

Viewers hoping to see Ed take up X Factor novelty rapper Honey G's dance off challenge will be left disappointed, after the fan favourite declined.

He said: 'I've spent 10 weeks trying to avoid the dance off, and so far I have. I'm afraid I'm trying to avoid dance offs at the moment.'

Steal Lorraine's style in an Oasis scallop trim top

Ed Balls showed off his dance moves to Lorraine this morning, but whilst her enthusiasm for learning the routine was unfaultable, Lorraine’s outfit was worlds away from the spangly ensembles seen on the Strictly dance floor.

Lorraine instead looked super chic in a pair of tailored trousers teamed with a floral and bird print top, then completed her look with pink pointed heels.

We love this top on Lorraine, the fun flora fauna print has an oriental feel about it; meanwhile the scallop trim is an extra pretty touch.

It’s form Oasis and is available to buy online now for £38, follow the link on the tight to get it now, or for more choice shop around with our edit of alternatives in the carousel below.

Dressed in a grey suit, he was light on his toes as he raised his arm up and wiggled his hips, much to Lorraine's amusement.

The star might not have received too many high marks from the Strictly judges but he has a big fan in Labour Party deputy leader Tom Watson.

The MP recorded a special message joking his friend had more points than the Labour opinion polls, and gave him a 10.

When his Strictly adventure finally comes to an end, Ed revealed he would learn some routines with wife Yvette so they can dance together at any weddings or Bar Mitzvahs they're invited to next year.

He might split opinion, but Ed has one fan in the favourite for the glitterball trophy Danny Mac.

Appearing on Monday's This Morning, Danny said: 'That guy's fantastic,' said Danny. 'You're not going to turn off because Ed Balls is dancing.

'It's a show where the audience vote. I've never once felt safe in that elimination show.

'There's more to the show than being the best dancer. He's going out there getting his steps right, dancing in time and entertaining people. He puts in the effort. He's not there as a joke, he 's there because he's putting in the effort.'
