  • She says the secrets to their natural glows are very simple
  • Her tips include sometimes  forgoing sunscreen and using toner in the mornings
  • Coconut oil and green tea are also crucial parts of the models' regimes

The women spend a lot of time working on their appearance - and so it makes sense that Miranda Kerr, Lindsay Ellingson and Irina Shayk have skincare secrets.

Their esthetician, Ildi Pekar, has spilled some of the stranger ones, which includes sometimes foregoing sunscreen to keep pores clear.

According to the New York based woman, some of the world's most beautiful people choose to 'occasionally skip sunscreen' if they're in an office or not going to be exposed to the sun.

Spilling the secrets:  Esthetician Ildi Pekar revealed some of the basic tricks models use to keep their skin looking fresh

'Most people don't understand how much it clogs their skin, especially if they don't need it,' she told PopSugar.

In the scorching Australian sun though, this might not always be a wise move.

Dermatologist Jeannette Graf told Bustle that creams with more natural ingredients could help to prevent the issue.

'Mineral sunscreens with active ingredients like zinc oxide tend to be less irritating to reactive skin types [and] Gel formulations tend to have a lighter texture and work well with oily skin.'

Night time only! Ildi says her high profile clients only use toner to wash their face in the morning, and cleanse at night to avoid scrubbing away too much of the skin's natural oils

Another dermatologist, Craig Kraffert, explained an ingredient called homosalate, which is present in large amounts in many mass produced sunscreens, is one of the main causes of sunscreen breakouts.

Ildi also revealed to PopSugar that the models she works with tend to use toner in the morning, instead of face wash.

She recommends only using cleanser at night, as washing ones face too often can strip it of it's natural oils.

'Most importantly, [toner] will balance your skin's pH so it is not too oily and not dry.'

Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr, a client of the esthetician, has previously shared another easy-to-follow beauty secret - the green tea steam facial.

Each week, she complements her regular skincare routine by holding her face over a basin of boiling tea.

'Fill your basin with a jug of freshly boiled water, add an organic green tea bag to the water, place your head over the basin and cover with a large towel… let the steam envelope your face for a few minutes to open your pores,' she explained to IB Times in 2015.

'Green tea not only has anti-oxidant properties but also acts as an anti-aging product.'

Irina Shayk also has a cheap DIY skin care secret she's happily shared in the past.

The model revealed she uses coconut oil as a moisturiser straight after a shower, before drying her skin.

She then wipes the excess away with a towel, she told W Magazine last year.
