Sushi date! Jessica Alba leaves husband and kids at home to catch up with blonde friend at famed Japanese restaurant in Beverly Hills

Jessica Alba left her husband Cash Warren and their two kids at home on Tueday to have a little fun.

The Honest COmpany founder was seen with a blonde pal as they enjoyed dinner at the upscale sushi establishment Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills, where everyone from Nicole Richie to Victoria Beckham dines.

The 35-year-old cut a casually stylish figure, slipping into a beige jacket and a pair of dark, flared jeans that tightened about her toned legs. Nude stilettos complemented the comfortable-looking cream jacket she'd wrapped herself in for the faintly chilly evening.

Beneath the jacket was a white jumper, and she'd slung on a cross-body purse with floral patterning splashed over a grey field.

Teen Vogue ran an interview last week in which Alba dished about The Honest Company, the consumer goods brand she helped launch in 2011.

Despite being battered by lawsuits over its products' alleged ingredients and effectiveness, The Honest Company has flourished into a billion-dollar enterprise.

The actress-cum-mogul told Teen Vogue: 'You think the hardest part is getting your company started and turning the lights on.'

Though, 'That was very stressful - we launched with a beta website and it was scary,' she's maintained that 'the hurdle is actually staying in business.'

She elaborated: 'Hiring the right people, retaining the right people, and keeping everyone aligned on your vision. Every time you overcome a challenge, you have an even bigger challenge to face!'

In her view, 'what’s great about that is that the previous challenges prepare you for the future ones. It’s sort of like raising a kid…you go through each milestone.'

She conceded: 'It’s not easy, you have to hustle, you have to be on your toes, there’s no 9-5. I work seven days a week. You need to have grit and tackle every problem with innovation and outside-the-box thinking.'

At another point, she noted that 'Tory Burch, early on, was a great sounding board and mentor for me. She said: "Just make sure to have people on your team that are aligned with your vision."'
