Final Ladder and Semi-Final Fixtures

ARFLI final ladder 2015

The final ladder is now know with the Belfast Redbacks topping the table despite their round 8 defeat to 2013 Premiers the South Dublin Swans.

This Saturday the semi-finals are being contested.  In Belfast at Cherryvale Sports Grounds beside Ravenhill rugby ground the 2014 Premiers the Belfast Redbacks host the Leeside Lions with first bounce at 3pm.  In Dublin in Bushy Park Terenure the South Dublin Swans host the Galway Magpies with first bounce at 2pm.

On league form to date the Redbacks are expected to win the Northern encounter and head to their fourth Grand Final in a row having won the 2012 and 2014 Grand Finals.  However if the Lions can get their act together they could spring a major surprise for their first Grand Final appearance since 2011.

In the capital the Swans will be hoping to get back to the Grand Final after last year’s disappointment of losing their semi at home to the Redbacks by a slender 2 points.  The Magpies will also want to avenge last year’s so close one point loss in the Grand Final after having also lost the 2012 final.  On their meetings this year it’s one a piece with both teams winning at home.  It’s expected to be another close game with a goal or two either way deciding it.
