They are Hollywood megastars who co-star in The Killing of a Sacred Deer, which has won critical acclaim.

And Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell were in great spirits as they waxed lyrical about their latest film project while appearing on Friday night's star-studded The Graham Norton Show.

The Oscar-winning actress, who turned 50 in June, looked impossibly youthful in a chic floral print bardot dress, with statement bow shoulder straps which showed off her slender midriff and toned arms as she chatted to the Irish TV host.

Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell were discussing their latest film project on The Graham Norton Show this week and Nicole (as ever) was looking much younger than her years.

The star had chosen a floral embroidered outfit with cute applique bows by Dolce & Gabbana for the appearance and she looked utterly glamorous.

The ensemble was sent down the spring 2018 runway and despite the dark hue of the dress it is perfect for the spring season with its floral bloom details.

The In Bruges actor also opened up about his 'fascinating' transformation for the psychological thriller, which tells the tale of a surgeon who forms a bond with a sinister teenage boy, which leads to disaster/

He said: 'The director (Yorgos Lanthimos) is a very particular film maker. It is very dark but I found it fascinating to morph into what he wanted.'

'I think Yorgos thought he had made an outright comedy. But I found it pretty dark and I was depressed by it.'

Colin, talking about the preparation he did for his character,cardiologist Stephen Murphy, he said: 'I attended a real heart bypass surgery, it was disturbing and fascinating. I turned green and had to step out of the room. Even though the patient was alive and survived, it screamed ‘cadaver.’

When she was asked about working with her father Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn in On Golden Pond, she says, 'Katherine was very prickly and told me outright that she didn’t like me much.

'I did the film for him because he was dying but she taught me the most and I gained her respect for doing my own stunt. But then when I rang to congratulate her on receiving an Oscar for the film she said, ‘You’ll never catch me now.’

'She had won three Oscars and I had won two – she was so competitive.”

Revealing her belief that it was the US government behind her arrest in 1970, she said "Nixon had it in for me.”

Asked about his new book Little Me: My Life from A-Z he says, 'It’s basically a love letter to chocolate.'
