Marla Maples proved herself to be both a Good Samaritan and a burgeoning reporter on Thursday as she rushed to the scene of a horrific car crash in New York City's Times Square.

The 53-year-old ex-wife of Donald Trump was at a reading of a friend's play when she learned about the fatal incident, and was soon rushing over to the site where a vehicle ran off the road and struck down 22 pedestrians, leaving one dead.

She also decided to take along her social media followers for the ride too, posting a series of videos to both her Instagram and Snapchat accounts as she journeyed to the scene, took a look around and reported on developments.

Marla, who in recent months seems to have taken over for her former husband as New York's most omnipresent personality, then took some time to pose for photos at the crash site.

In one image, Marla can be seen holding up a women's phone just a few feet away from the police tape marking off the scene where a teenager was killed just an hour before, as the three smile for the camera.

Marla, who keeps her fans and followers updated on what is happening in her day-to-day life via Instagram and Snapchat, started off her day posting about the hot New York City weather as she headed to a reading of her friend's new play.

She then posted a photo and video taken before and after the reading of 'Empire,' which was written by her friend Caroline Sherman and tells the story of the conception and building of the Empire State Building.

Shortly before or after the reading was over, 26-year-old Richard Rojas of the Bronx crashed his car in Times Square, killing an 18-year-old girl and seriously injuring 22 others before trying to flee the scene.

Marla found out about this, and quickly got on Snapchat to record a video of herself walking to the scene, saying: 'I am going to Times Square to see if there is anything I can do.'

Once there, she got as close as the police tape would allow before uploading a number of videos and photos to both her Snapchat and Instagram accounts.

'We’re at Times Square at the scene of this horrific crash,' announced Marla in one of the first video she uploaded from the scene.

She then offered up multiple views of the cleared out area in the center on Manhattan shortly after the tragic accident, noting 'everyone's here to help.'

Nearby tourists could also be seen snapping pics of the area where an 18-year-old girl had just lost her life.

'Sending out so much love to everyone,' said Marla as she panned across the rescue videos before turning the camera back on her face in one video.

She also posted the message 'XXX Times Square With Love' over her Snapchat videos and images.
