MOROCCO 0-1 PORTUGAL - IAN LADYMAN AT THE LUZHNIKI STADIUM: How many World Cup points would Portugal have without Cristiano Ronaldo in their team? One? Maybe two if we are being generous? As it is, Portugal have four and would appear to be on their way to qualifying for the knockout stages after just two games. Ronaldo's early goal here was his fourth of the tournament, following on from his hat-trick in the 3-3 draw with Spain. A header, it was a classic Ronaldo moment. Brave, decisive and entirely predictable.
Well, they do call him the GOAT! Ronaldo shows off new chin beard just days after bizarre celebration (so, is it for a bet or another dig at his old rival Messi?)
As well as looking to prove he is the greatest footballer of all time on the pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo has opted for a goatee to back his claim as the 'GOAT' as he arrived for Portugal's World Cup clash with Morocco.
BBC make history as becomes first female commentator on World Cup for British TV (but is John Terry not a fan?)
Vicki Sparks has become the first ever woman to commentate live on a World Cup game for British television by taking to the mic for Portugal vs Morocco. Sparks was the lead voice of BBC One's live coverage from Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, while Sportsmail's Martin Keown performed the role of summariser (both pictured left). However, she appeared to have one viewer who wasn't keen after John Terry (inset) posted on Instagram: 'Having to watch this game with no volume'.
Amrabat sparks concussion fears after throwing protective head guard off pitch just 16 minutes into Morocco v Portugal
Nordin Amrabat's protective head gear lasted just 16 minutes of Morocco's clash with Portugal before he chucked the concussion cap aside in disgust. After the Watford midfielder was penalised for a foul on Raphael Guerreiro, he ripped the padded black cap from his head and lobbed it to the sidelines. The winger had been instructed to wear the protection for the duration of the game but seemed to be frustrated with it. Having suffered a nasty looking injury against Iran when he appeared to be out cold, few expected Amrabat to feature for the African side against the European champions.
ALL CHANGE AT ARSENAL
New era, new team: Arsenal reveal Emery's backroom team with Bould staying on... but who are the men in the dugout?
Tuesday was a busy day for Arsenal as they signed Bernd Leno before letting Jack Wilshere leave but what went under the radar was the announcement of Unai Emery's new backroom team. Plenty of fresh faces are set to feature in the Arsenal dugout next season, with assistant manager Steve Bould one of the old names staying on. Here, Sportsmail takes a look at Arsenal's new backroom team ahead of the 2018-19 Premier League season.
Emery stamps his mark on Arsenal early as he signs new No 1 Leno...so, is this how they will line up next season?
Bernd Leno has joined the experienced Stephan Lichtsteiner in signing for Arsenal this summer, with Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Lucas Torreira expected to complete their moves very soon. Emery has also shown his ruthlessness this summer, letting go of fan favourite Jack Wilshere ahead of the new season. With the former Paris Saint-Germain boss clearly looking to improve the spine of Arsenal, Sportsmail takes a look at how his new side could line up next season.
INSIDE ENGLAND'S WORLD CUP CAMP
Vardy trying his American accent and Alli dressed as the Statue of Liberty... England stars as you've never seen them before, helping James Corden try to convince US fans to support World Cup bid
Before flying out to Russia for the World Cup, six members of England's squad allowed James Corden some time to film a sketch for his Late Late Show in the United States. Captain Harry Kane, along with Dele Alli, Jesse Lingard, Jamie Vardy, Kyle Walker and Eric Dier joined Corden as he convinced them film a pitch to his American audience as to why they should back England on the road to glory. The United States side, of course, failed to qualify for the tournament in Russia.
Kane interviewed in ICE BATH as he reveals pride in helping England to World Cup win
Following his heroics against Tunisia in England's World Cup opener on Monday, Harry Kane duly obliged to undertake his media duties but not how or where you expected. After a gruelling and nerve-racking finish in Volgograd, where Kane scored twice including a last-gasp winner, the England captain took a dip in the ice baths as he focused on his recovery ahead of the Panama game. And Craig Mitch, England's social media presenter in Russia, joined Kane in braving the unpleasant conditions and questioned the striker about his double against Tunisia, the match with Panama and the importance of recovery at the World Cup.
WORLD CUP
From a defender capped by Brazil to a born-again Christian, a child actor and the striker who dreams of AC Milan... meet Russia's ragtag stars taking the World Cup by storm
MIKE KEEGAN: Before a ball was kicked some believed that Russia could put in one of the shoddiest World Cup performances by a host nation. This was clearly fake news. Two blistering matches, two emphatic wins and eight goals later it is time to think again. While Portugal or Spain await beyond the groups, at the moment all is well. Here is Sportsmail's guide to the 23-man squad who have become the early team of the tournament.

Germany's World Cup defence got off to the worst possible start on Sunday as they were defeated narrowly 1-0 by an impressive Mexico side at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. But Joachim Low's formidable squad showed they will not hide away after their early setback as they were put through an intense session in Sochi on Wednesday morning.

When you're one of the greatest footballers of your generation, it's only fair you get to enjoy a few perks. That's why Lionel Messi was given a lift - along with Sergio Aguero and Marcos Rojo - on a golf buggy as Argentina trained ahead of their second World Cup fixture against Croatia on Thursday. While that trio put their feet up and were driven to the training pitch at the team's training base in Moscow, the other members of the squad appeared to walk.

Senegal celebrate World Cup win over Poland by cleaning up the stadium as they join Japan at the top of Group H
Following their 2-1 World Cup win against Poland, Senegal fans stayed behind after the match to clean up the mess they had made in all the excitement. In this act of kindness, some of the Senegalese supporters opted to help out after the game by cleaning up the mess from food and drink packaging among other things, that had all been left behind. Their actions received a lot of praise on social media as they showcased their ability to be humble and helpful in victory.
A cut above? Pogba flies barber out to Russia to trim stars' hair at France camp
Paul Pogba got a fresh trim in Moscow last week... after arranging to fly Surrey-based 'A Star Barbers' 1,500 miles to tend to his famous hair. The Manchester United star is one of A Star's regular clients and decided to bring them into the French camp at Russia 2018 to give his team-mates a boost. Thirteen players got haircuts from Ahmed Alsanawi courtesy of Pogba's gesture, including Manchester City left back Benjamin Mendy, who also regularly uses A Star's services.

Know your 'disco' from your 'cobra'?: Cipriani trains with code words form tactical moves written on his hand
Danny Cipriani was pictured in England training with what appeared to be backs moves written on his hand. There were numbers, possibly referring to line-out formations, and words like 'disco' and 'cobra' scrawled on his skin. England's mercurial fly-half could well replace George Ford and see his first significant game time of the tour in Saturday's dead rubber. He came off the bench towards the end of South Africa's 23-12 victory in the second Test at the weekend but was hardly afforded any time to showcase his talent.
