“Agents of SHIELD’s” same-day ratings have predictably fallen with its move to Fridays, but early indications are it’s still a solid performer in the delayed-viewing stats.

The Dec. 8 episode more than doubled its adults 18-49 rating after seven days of catchup, rising from 0.5 to 1.2. That followed a similar gain (0.7 to 1.3) for its season premiere. It also improved by 87 percent (1.93 million to 3.61 million) in total viewers.

Another ABC show, “The Good Doctor,” had the largest total gains of the week. It rose by 1.8 points in adults 18-49 and by 6.67  million viewers.

Here are the Live +7 rankings for Dec. 4-10, 2017. The rankings include first-run series and specials only, not repeats.

[…] Some might be quick to blame the ratings as to why FOX has not yet renewed Gotham. The third season finale, the last time the show aired on Mondays before moving to Thursdays, was seen by 4.84 million viewers. No episode this season has been able to match that number, with “The Fear Reaper” so far being the closest with 4.77 million viewers. Subsequent episodes have seen decreasing numbers and the mid-season finale “Queen Takes Knight” had the show’s lowest ratings. […]

[…] Along the way, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” discovered how to balance the desire for prestige, TV-length stories with a 22-episode broadcast season, separating it into three “pods” of seven to eight episodes, which formed a larger whole starting in season three. It also weathered several corporate shake-ups as ABC attempted to get out from under a pile of poorly rated Disney pet projects, including another MCU spinoff, “Agent Carter.” (The direct “S.H.I.E.L.D.” spinoff, “Marvels Most Wanted” never made it out of the pilot stage.) Rumors were “S.H.I.E.L.D.” would be canceled after season four, but Disney executives mandated it had to stay, with a resulting season five that was both critically praised and which saw streaming numbers rise.
