Lamar Odom and Taraji P. Henson had an 'amazing' night on a double date with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

He's certainly telling it all in his new memoir.

And Lamar Odom admitted that he had one 'amazing' night on a double date with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie while he was secretly dating Taraji P. Henson more than a decade ago.

The 39-year-old former professional basketball player fondly recalled the chance encounter with the power couple in his book Darkness to Light.

'On the night of the Golden Globes, Taraji and I went to a restaurant and had dinner with her Benjamin Button costar Brad Pitt and his wife, Angelina Jolie,' he wrote.

In The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Taraji's character Queenie raises Benjamin (played by Pitt) after he was abandoned at birth.  

The storyline follows Button's unique case of aging in reverse, where he was born elderly and grows younger through the years.

Odom fondly remembered Angelina being taken with Lamar and Taraji's relationship, saying it seemed like they were 'together forever.'

The double date was his 'you made it' moment.

After their dinner, Lamar found himself among Hollywood's A-list at the awards show, and he was enamored sitting 'right next to' Forest Whitaker.

'That was amazing that night,' the former Los Angeles Lakers power forward recalled. 

He admitted that his cheating ways were to blame for the end of his relationship with the Empire star.

'She was just such a wise woman that she could see through whatever smooth act I was trying to put on,' he wrote. 'She refused to be just another conquest, and truthfully, I didn’t want her to be.' 

He said they began spending more time with together and eventually introduced each other to friends and family.   

Lamar reflected on the blown relationship with a sense of regret, writing, 'Things were amazing, but of course, God gave me a layup and I blew it.'

Odom was married to Khloe Kardashian from Sept. 27, 2009 until Khloe's separation filing in December of 2013; the divorce was finalized in December of 2016.
