When Jussie Smollett was told his Nigerian trainer and his brother had been arrested for the 'homophobic, racist' attack he said he was the victim of, he reacted with: 'It can't be them, they'e black as sin.' His reaction was revealed for the first time on Thursday, buried in 470 pages of previously sealed Chicago PD files that have finally been made public. The files, which DailyMail.com has reviewed in full, also reveal how Smollett changed his story throughout the police investigation, first telling police one of his attackers was white, then 'pale' and admitting that he had 'presumed' they were white because of what he claimed they said to him - 'This MAGA country'. He said that his attacker had 'pale' skin that was visible behind the mask he was wearing, around his eyes. 

Christopher Lee Price, left and inset at the time of his arrest, was the second man put to death in Alabama in two weeks. He had avoided another execution date in April amid legal disagreements. Price was pronounced dead at 7:31 p.m at Holman prison on Thursday. The killer released a statement of apology through his attorney before his death. 'A man is much more than his worst mistake,' he said while strapped to a gurney. Pastor Bill Lynn, 57, right was murdered getting toys ready for his grandchildren.

The body of Elizabeth 'Lizzy' Shelley was found on Wednesday less than a block from her home in Salt Lake City after her 21-year-old uncle Alex Whipple led police to the dirt-covered body. Authorities only confirmed the little girl's identity on Thursday afternoon. Her body was found hidden under trees and brush just yards from her home five days after she went missing. The discovery came hours after Whipple was charged with murder and other counts. He provided the map in exchange for prosecutors taking the death penalty off the table, Logan Police Chief Gary Jensen said.

Jennifer Dulos, 50, inset, was last seen Friday morning and reported missing by friends. Her mother Gloria, right, and two of her children, left, were pictured Thursday in New York.They are said to be under armed guard as the search for Jennifer continues and one cop was seen shaking hands with the private security hired by the family. Dulos' mother Gloria was pictured using a walking stick alongside the two boys. Dulos is said to be embroiled in a bitter split and custody battle with her estranged husband Fotis Dulos over their kids, aged between eight and 13. Dulos claimed that Fotis was verbally abusive toward her and said he had exhibited 'irrational, unsafe, bullying, threatening and controlling behavior'.

Rhyan Glezman, the brother of Chasten Buttigieg, is pushing back against media portrayals of how Chasten's family responded to news that he is gay, as well as claims of economic suffering. The small-town Michigan preacher says his views have been distorted. 'He was struggling for a time. But there was nothing on the family end that said he had to leave,' according to Glezman.

The father of a seven-year-old boy whose malnourished body was found encased in concrete has been formally charged with murder.  Leland Pankey, 39, is accused of killing his young son Caden McWilliams in July 2018, before concealing his remains inside a Denver storage facility.  On Thursday, Colorado prosecutors further charged Leland with child abuse resulting in death and tampering with a dead body.

President Donald Trump stuck around after a commencement address at the U.S. Air Force Academy to shake every graduating cadet's hand. 'Most of all, to the nearly 1,000 cadets, who I have agreed to shake every, single hand,' he said to loud cheers. 'They gave me a choice. They said, sir, you don't have to shake any hands, some people do that.' He teased, 'Those are the smart ones. They're out of here.' Trump followed through after he pardoned pranksters and mischief makers, as is tradition for the nation's commander in chief to do when he speaks at military commencements.

Six F-35 fighter jet pilots dog-fighting above the skies of an Arizona Air Force base left behind questionable contrails resembling male genitalia on Tuesday – but officials insist the garish symmetrical sky doodle was just an unfortunate accident. Social media was left astir after a number of residents surrounding the Luke Air Force Base Maricopa County snapped pictures of the hovering penis-shaped trail, questioning whether it had been crafted as part of an elaborate joke. However, unlike previous incidents involving military aircraft being used to create explicit images, base officials have denied that the stunt was premeditated and insist the unsightly trail came as a result of normal flight maneuvers.

Kodi Lee, 22, has earned overnight fame after making his debut on the talent show on Tuesday night. In a new interview, Kodi said he was 'excited' about his success and the upcoming live shows. His mother, Tina Lee, who accompanied him on stage, said she was 'shocked' and 'could not stop crying' during his incredible performance. Kodi, from California, sang A Song For You by Leon Russell while playing the piano. A musical prodigious savant, Kodi is autistic but had perfect pitch and an audio photographic memory. His incredible performance earned a standing ovation on Tuesday's show, leaving judges and audience members in tears. Gabrielle Union gave Kodi the golden buzzer, meaning he will progress straight through to the live finals.

The unusual encounter was captured by Daniel Wadleigh who had driven out to Rockwood, some 200 miles north of Portland, searching for the perfect place to cast his line. But instead he stumbled across two lynx staring each other down and making screeching noises with a distinctly human-like sound. Wadleigh said he slammed on the brakes when he realized the animals were lynx, but they ignored his filming and continued their stand-off. Wadleigh shared the images and video to Facebook and wrote: 'You just never know whats going to be around the next bend in the road up here in the great north woods.'

Food Network star Sandra Lee has listed the home she shared with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Bittersweet Lane (left, at top) for sale for $2 million, amid rumors the couple have split, which the pair have denied. Lee, 52, and Cuomo, 61 (inset in New York in October), pin the downsizing on Cuomo's three daughters leaving the home. While in the process of selling the 1950s Colonial in the northern Westchester County enclave of New Castle, Lee said their plan is to divide their time between her New York City apartment, the governor's mansion and the Hamptons. The four bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom mansion sits on 2.89 acres in Mount Kisco. Lee said earlier this month she would try to sell it for $2.3million, but the property went on the market five days ago for $300,000 shy of that mark. Ana Jaira Solís (inset) was walking to her vehicle on the afternoon of May 24 when a man (pictured) began harassing her for not being his Uber ride. He then followed her to the car and flew into a racist rant about her not being a United States citizen.  As the 17-year-old high school graduate recorded the encounter, the man told her, 'you need to take your f****** car and get the f*** out of here.'

Steve Anderson-McLean and Rob Anderson-McLean from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania discovered the six siblings online in need of a home. In May, they officially adopted Carlos, 14, Guadalupe, 13, Maria, 12, Selena, 10, Nasa, 9, and Max, 7 — after they spent 1,640 days in foster care. The siblings were in foster care after experiencing neglect and abuse. Steve and Rob have two older sons from previous marriages, and they decided they were not done with being parents.

A huge shark was spotted circling an oblivious woman who was swimming at a Florida beach. Stan Battles was vacationing at Panama City Beach when he saw the shark swimming in sea grass from the 28th-floor of a condo. In the video, the woman is seen enjoying the water when the shark swims out of the sea grass. The shark is then seen swimming just a few feet away from the woman before beachgoers are heard shouting: 'Shark! Shark!' As the people on shore yell to alert the woman of danger, the shark turns directly in her path. Once the woman realizes what the people are saying, she starts to swim in the opposite direction toward the shore. In that heart-stopping moment, the shark continues to swim directly behind her until she makes a turn.

Orin Julie, 25, who divides her time between the US and Israel, where she served in the IDF, has become an Instagram sensation thanks to posing for sexy snaps with guns. Firefighters were called to a Morayfield property on Thursday night, after its panicked owners called to say their donkey had tumbled into the concrete tank and was wedged firmly inside. Officers faced a sticky and stinky situation and had to think hard about how to haul the animal out without hurting it. After pumping the tank dry, they used a large tripod to support slings that were carefully slipped around the donkey's belly.

Houston, Texas mom Janess Strickland recorded her daughter Madison Jade sharing her opinions about princess movies. The four-year-old was about to see the new live-action Aladdin film and took issue with the plot. She said that Princess Jasmine should have gone on her own adventure, and that the magic carpet was too small for the pair of them. Madison also argued against princesses needing princes to save them, insisting: 'The princess doesn't need a prince to rescue her. She can rescue herself.'

She stumbled upon the scaly animal on a road at a Canadian wildlife reserve and decided to film herself patting its shell. And, clearly oblivious to the species of this 'snapping turtle', as she leaned in the creature exploded up towards her and tried to nip at her face. Fascinated by the animal, the girl rushes over to it with her camera and excitedly cries: 'oh look, it's a big old tortoise!'. But it is actually a common snapping turtle which are native to southeastern Canada and are notoriously fierce.

Lance Wooton, 32, from London, Kentucky decided to grow a beard in 2014. He wanted to dress up as a pirate for Halloween, which required a beard. Lance was later contacted online about entering a beard contest. Five years later, his beard has grown and he has entered more than 30 contests. He confessed to getting weird remarks about his beard, but he has no intention to shave or trim the facial hair.
