US Treasury Secretary's Scottish actress wife Louise Linton mingles with the royal family at Trump's dinner - 11 years after playing Kate in a movie

  • Louise Linton, 38, is accompanying her husband on Trump's state visit to UK
  • She sported a bright pink and red gown for Trump's dinner at the US Ambassador's home at Winfield House in London on Tuesday night
  • Was also in attendance for the Queen's dinner at Buckingham Palace on Monday
  • Middleton escorted Mnuchin into the dinner and stopped to shake Linton's hand
  • Linton played Middleton's fictional friend Vanessa Rose Williams in the film William & Kate in 2011, shortly before Middleton married Prince William

Louise Linton is having a ball accompanying her husband Steve Mnuchin at yet another glamorous dinner during Donald Trump's state visit to Great Britain.

Linton happily posed for the cameras as she left her hotel and made her way to Winfield House, the official residence of the US Ambassador in London.

And, much like the night before, the Scottish actress was bold with her fashion choices, opting for a floor-length gown covered in metallic red and pink roses.

The event comes one night after Linton, 38, met Kate Middleton, years after playing the role of her close friend in a 2011 Lifetime movie about Middleton's romance with Prince William.

Middleton escorted Mnuchin into the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace on Monday night.

As the pair were walking down the line to greet guests, Linton said hello to her husband and Middleton stopped to give her hand a quick shake. She was the only guest that Middleton greeted before sitting down for dinner.

Linton played the fictional character Vanessa Rose Williams in the film William & Kate.

At the time the movie came out, shortly before Prince William and Middleton's wedding, Linton said her character wasn't impressed by the royals.

'She's not the type of girl to be overwhelmed because of somebody's wealth, prestige, or standing in life,' she told Zap2It

'She's much more involved in the more grounded and more authentic things. So while she's very happy that Kate's happy, she also becomes very upset when Kate's upset and encourages Kate to walk away.'

But Linton has clearly been having a blast in England, praising the 'beautiful' white-tie dinner at Buckingham Palace on Monday night.

Linton wore a stunning deep red gown for the event that featured a cut-out key hole detail, accentuating her waist.

The actress swept her hair up into a chiffon, and completed her look with a sultry,  smokey eye for the event.

'Wonderful to be home in Britain!' she wrote in the caption. 'An honor to attend the State Dinner at Buckingham Palace. It was a beautiful evening.'

Louise, who has had minor roles in CSI: NY and Cold Case, joined the Trump family and royals including Middleton and Prince William, as well as Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, and Princess Anne.

It was a lavish affair as 170 guests dined on steamed halibut, watercress mousse, Windsor lamb, strawberry sable, and sipped on the $2,540-a-bottle Chateau Lafite.

Stun in an elegant Alexander McQueen dress like the Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess of Cambridge entered the Buckingham Palace for the State Banquet looking like the royal she is in a white lace cap-sleeve gown by none other than her go-to designer Alexander McQueen.

Kate looked absolutely stunning in this textured, tiered gown that she paired with the Lover's Knot Tiara as well as sapphire earrings. It was a look befitting a princess and we, at Fashion Finder, can't find any flaw in this look. Of course, Kate's look was designed especially for her and for this occasion by the British house, so you'll be hard-pressed to recreate this look anytime soon. However, if you're keen to pick up a little something from Alexander McQueen, head to the designer's website now by clicking to the right.

In contrast, the dinner Trump and Melania hosted on Tuesday featured beef, potatoes, ice cream, and $38 red wine from California.

In a recent interview with the Sunday Times, Linton described herself as a vegan environmentalist who believes in diversity and makes sure to hire transgender actors on her films.

'I made sure I cast a transgender actor, two African-American women, a gay guy and a gender-neutral person,' she said of her most recent film.

'This was partly to represent who I am as a filmmaker and how I love diversity and inclusivity,' she added.

Linton is directing and starring in the film Me, You, and Madness, in which she plays a bisexual psychopathic killer who is 'uninhibited' and 'very carnal and confident in her sexuality'.

She is starring alongside Ed Westwick, the Gossip Girl star who was accused of rape by two women at the height of the #MeToo movement in 2017.

Like the Trump family, Linton is no stranger to controversy.

Two months after her wedding to Mnuchin in 2017, Linton raised eyebrows when she posted a photo of herself walking off a military plane with him following a trip to Kentucky and tagged every designer label she was wearing

Two months after her wedding to Mnuchin in 2017, Linton raised eyebrows when she posted a photo of herself walking off a military plane with him following a trip to Kentucky.

'Great #daytrip to #Kentucky!' she wrote in the captions alongside the hashtags #rolandmouret, #hermesscarf, #tomford and #valentino to note the labels she was wearing.

The picture received swift backlash, including from Portland mother-of-three Jenni Miller, who commented: 'Glad we could pay for your little getaway. #deplorable.'

Linton replied to Miller's comment, calling her 'adorably out of touch' and sarcastically writing that her life 'looks cute'.

'Have you given more to the economy than me and my husband? Either as an individual earner in taxes OR in self sacrifice to your country?' she wrote.

Linton has since hired a Washington 'protocol expert' to help prevent future scandals.
