Princess Anne is STILL the hardest-working royal, racking up four times more days on duty than Meghan who's carried out 16 this year - while Kate's done 25

  • Princess Anne, 68, has taken the title for the most public engagements this year
  • Prince Charles and Camilla have done 100 engagements between them
  • The Duchess of Sussex went on maternity leave so she only completed 16
  • The Duchess of Cambridge has done 25, while the Queen has completed 28

While Kate and Meghan grab headlines when they're out on official duties, there's one royal who's been quietly doing almost twice as many royal engagements as both Duchesses put together.

As the royals prepare to wind down for their summer break, Hello magazine has counted up the number of days each royal family member has spent on public engagements this year so far.

And famously hard-working Princess Anne has come out on top again with 73 days of engagements so far in 2019.

In comparison the Duchess of Sussex has had 16 days of engagements, while the Duchess of Cambridge has carried out 25.

They were both beaten by the Queen, 93, who has scaled back her engagements in the past few years, but still spent 28 days on public duties.

Maybe the Monarch was trying to catch up with her daughter last month - as she had a string of public engagements all in one week - starting with Lady Gabriella Windsor's wedding at St George’s Chapel and finishing the week by entertaining thousands of people at Buckingham Palace's annual Garden Party.

The Duchesses husbands, Prince Harry and William, also topped their engagements total, with Prince Harry completing 33 and the The Duke of Cambridge just short of him at 31.

Other older royals beat the younger ones with the Earl of Wessex completing 30, while the Duke of York has done 37.

While Camilla and Prince Charles have completed 100 engagements between them, with the Prince of Wales racking up 58 and The Duchess of Cornwall currently on 42.

Princess Anne, 68, has taken the title for the most public engagements this year, beating both Camilla and Prince Charles who were just behind her - they include the State Banquet on Monday - which was held for the U.S. President's Donald Trump's visit

It's Princess Anne who has been the busiest -  as she's been doing a series of engagements up and down the country, including a reception at Buckingham Palace in London, with Meghan Markle (pictured left) to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the investiture of the Prince of Wales

How many engagements have the royals completed?

Meghan Markle - 16

Kate Middleton - 25

The Queen - 28

Earl of Wessex - 30

Prince William - 31

Prince Harry - 33

Duke of York - 37

Camilla - 42

Prince Charles - 58

Princess Anne - 73

However it's Princess Anne who has been busy as she's been doing a series of engagements up and down the country.

In February she visited the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies on the banks of the Clyde while in April she she opened the UK's new Hydrographic Office headquarters in Taunton.

Last month she also joined The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles and in the sunshine of Wednesday evening as they attended the Queen's royal garden party.

Analysis conducted by The Telegraph last year also showed that the Queen's daughter worked 180 days of the year in 2018.

In March it was also revealed that she has clocked up 20,000 engagements in 50 years.

Her official debut took place 50 years ago, on March 1, 1969, St David’s Day, when she handed out leeks to the Welsh Guards at Pirbright Camp in Surrey.
