Brennan, Damien Defender

Kildare County Apps: 29; Sub Apps: 0; Goals: 1. One of the best
right fulls in the division. Probably Kildare's most consistent
player during Kildare's first season. As solid in defence as he
is exciting in attack. Spent three years in England with Huddersfield
and was also capped for Ireland at underage level.
Dykes, Gavin Centre-back
2-10-67.
Kildare County Apps: 18; Sub Apps: 0; Goals: 0. One of the best
League of Ireland defenders of the past decade. Played under Dermot
Keely at his hometown club Sligo Rovers and won the FAI Cup there
in 1994. Won the Championship with Derry City in 1997 and starred
for Finn Harps in the 1999 FAI Cup Final. Was also player-manager
with Finn Harps for a spell. Named Kildare County's first ever captain.
He was inspirational in Kildare's early games before a back injury
ended his season prematutely. Was the first ever winner of the supporters
club player of the month award.
Griffin, Derek Defender
25/8/81.
Kildare County Apps: 17; Sub appearances: 3; Goals: 0. Spent a season
on loan with the Thoroughbreds from Shelbourne. Made the central
defensive position beside Ben Whelehan his own following Gavin Dykes'
injury.
O'Callaghan, James Left back
13-4-73.
Kildare County Apps: 29. Sub Apps: 0; Goals 0. Very experienced
player who has played Eircom League football for the likes of Shelbourne,
Longford and Monaghan. Like Brennan on the opposite side he loves
to get forward and join the attack.
Whelehan, Ben Defender
Kildare County Apps: 26; Sub Apps: 0; Goals: 3. Physically impressive
player who became Kildare's captain following Gavin Dykes' injury.
His strength and committed performances have seen become a big favourite
amongst the Kildare supporters
Webb, Marc Defender
Kildare County Apps: 0; Sub Apps: 1; Goals: 0. Young player who
can operate at either left side of defence or left side of midfield.

Keely, Alan Defender
Kildare County Apps: 0; Sub Apps: 0; Goals: 0.Son of Kildare manger,
Dermot. Signed just two days after the end of the season 02/03.
Returning to Ireland after a year of playing college football with
UC Santa Barbara where he was voted "Freshman of the year".
Previously Eircom League experience with Shelbourne.
