About Macromedia Central
Macromedia Central is a rich client environment for delivering cross-platform desktop applications. Flash developers use the Central SDK and Macromedia Flash MX 2004 to create applications for the Central Desktop Client — a runtime environment for running and managing Central applications. Unlike conventional web sites, Central applications function offline, keeping important information constantly available. Central applications run in a controlled environment to keep sensitive data secure. And because Central automatically notifies the user when new versions are available, applications are always up-to-date.
Both the Central SDK and the Central desktop client are available free
of charge.
