Welcome! This is the page where we will summarize all we know about the next Radiohead release. The new album has not been named nor has a specific date been announced for its release.

Phil Selway was asked about Radiohead’s future: "It’s not very rock and roll, but we all have families, so we’ll be with them until at least the end of summer. We need to press the reset button on everything before we work out what to do next. We’ve no new songs, not one.”

There’s been talk that Radiohead’s next release would be a series of EP’s rather than an album. What does Phil have to say about that? “Sorry”, he chuckles. “Again, we simply don’t know. We could do the EP’s, we may do an album, it could be a regular release, it might be just via the web. After a year in tour, we need to not think about the band for a couple of months.”

And the BBC has more, this time from Ed-
"We just haven't made any firm plans about what we're going to do yet. We just wanted to get this past year out of our systems then sit down and once we've had some time to think about it, then actually make some decisions about what comes next."

"We're just recharging our batteries and we know that we want to come back and make some music together, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. But we just want to take our time and make sure it's the right time for us."

Update March 8, 2005:

As you may or may not know, Radiohead is out of contract with EMI Records and has no obligation to release any more albums.

Our sources at Radiohead's US label, Capitol Records, have told us that they are asking Radiohead to record one more album as a favor to them since Capitol did them a favor by releasing the last Supergrass album. Supergrass and Radiohead share the same management, Courtyard Management. Whether or not another Radiohead album is released by Capitol still is unknown at the time.

On March 8, 2005, Thom told the official Radiohead messageboard that "hey weve started work." Does this mean the band are starting work on a new album or release? We think so...

Update May 13, 2005:

We have been told that the band are well under way with the recording process. They all got together in their Oxford studio in January to "jam" through some new songs, most of them by Thom that were new to the rest of the band. The mood in the studio has been descibed as "unorganized" and quite different than the way Radiohead usually records.

We've also been told that Radiohead have been playing around with 15 songs and that two of them were "already done and amazing."

The new album should be completed by December with a possible February or March 2006 release. A tour could start as early as February.
