Norway launches search for 2008 entry
Aside from the standard song rules, such as the song having to be 3 minutes or less in length, it is interesting to note that once again the Norwegian national final is open to composers of all nationalities - despite the annual controversy over the number of Swedes in the Norwegian final, with them sometimes even winning, for example in 2007 and 2004.
All entries must be received by NRK by the 1st September 2007. NRK will also once again directly invite some artists and composers, as they did in 2007. As yet there are no dates for the Norwegian national final. Norway will use the 3 semi-final and second chance system, as they have done in 2006 and 2007.
Whoever represents Norway will have to start in the semi final in Belgrade due to Guri Schanke's failure to qualify for the final in Helsinki. For interested songwriters, the form for entry is found in English here.

Good luck Norway. I thought their song should have made it to the final. It was so good and I loved the performance, especially where the singer's outfit changed! Hope they get to the final next year with another good song.
I hope Norrway soon will send a realy good song and a great artist. A long time seence I have heard a realy good song from Norway
Hope NRK invites more famous performers in 2008, than they did in 2007. I suppose that Guri won this year because she was the most popular artist, though her song was crap! Send a great modern pop song with a handsome young performer next year, please!

I'd love to see Jostein Hasselgart ( Norway 2003 ) in ESC once again , competing with an another wonderful ballad . He's in my top5 of all the esc songs .

Great, I'm glad to hear that there'll be a NF again for one of my favorite ESC/Music Countries.
I'd like to have Jannicke Abrahamsen, Malin Schavenius, VENKE KNUTSON (althogh she won't do ESC for 99,9%), CRASH or another pop entrant for Norway. It's time for pop again!
I want Christine Guldbrandsen back in ESC 2008. Her songs are so beautiful.

I Hope there will be at least a few songs sung in Norwegian and I also hope that there won#t be so much swedish schlager in Melodi Grand prix. guri schanke was a catastrophe, christine Guldbrandsen rules!
Norway is one of my favourite country in the ESC.
The bests norwegian songs in ESC: Ven a bailar conmigo, Alvedansen, High, Nocturne, Alle mine tankar.
I hope they will choose something good next year and they will qualifie to the Final too.
I loved the norwegian entry in 2005. 2006 wasn't bad too. This year's I didn't like at all.
I'm hoping for some good songs in MGP next year. Norway's entries 1995 and 2003 are two of my favourites in ESC.
