Stewardship
Stewardship is a commitment to responsible resource development and continuous improvement that all CAPP members uphold. It is an integrated approach that instills sound planning and operating practices to ensure continuous improvement in environmental, health and safety and social performance. It promotes mutually beneficial relationships and open and honest reporting of our performance in those areas.
Stewardship is about:
- Committing to continuous improvement in environment, health and safety and social performance
- Implementing a Plan-Do-Check-Act management system to ensure continuous improvement
- Doing business that will ensure the long-term sustainability of our industry
- Communicating openly and honestly with our stakeholders about issues that matter to them
- Developing basic tools, processes and training that facilitates continuous improvement.
- Demonstrating industry’s environmental, health and safety and social performance through credible data.
CAPP’s Stewardship initiative also helps member companies track and trend their environment, health, safety and social performance. Results and analysis of this data collection are published in CAPP’s annual Stewardship Progress Report.
