This is a scratch build design based on 11.4" diameter airframe
and a custom set of 8 fins. Originally this rocket was being built to just provide testing of
large chutes and large deployment mechanisms. However this rocket is now to be a Level 3 cert rocket.

Specifications
Height: 12.5'
Diameter: 11.4"
Weight: 57Kg (Fully loaded and prepped)
Electronics:
Twin RDAS Tiny + Live Telemetry option
Recovery:
Drogueless, twin Rouse Tech CD3 El Grande 92g (for redundancy)
12ft main custom SkyAngle Chute, twin Rouse Tech CD3 38g (for redundancy)

Engine Mount:
The engine assembly is interchangeable. The backend consists of a 7.5" motor
mount. This allows different engine configurations to be built inside 7.5" coupler
and inserted.

THE PARTS |
THE AIRFRAME |
Both pieces of airframe get glassed, Aerosleeves sock with Aeropoxy laminating system. Nothing but
the best for this baby. Then we just add a layer of chocolate filler to the glassed airframe. Well we have actually used
Aeropoxy Light, a lightweight aerospace filler. |
THE FIN CAN |
The fin assembly starts to look like a rocket. Initially secured with JB Weld and then a massive internal
fillet of Aeropoxy structural glue with milled fibres in it for added strength. |
THE MOTOR MOUNT ASSEMBLY |
The thrust centre ring is a crucial part so we take lots of time and care with this.
The first step was to put rub down and epoxy the centre ring in place on the back. Then we laid some carbon fibre toe and some
more epoxy. Then some fibre glass tape and some laminating epoxy. |
THE SWAPPABLE MOTOR MOUNT ASSEMBLY |
The entire motor mount assembly is swappable. This allows different back end configurations
to be built allowing the use of single or clustered engines within the rocket. The rear end is held in place by 8 stainless 3hex bolts and t-rivets crimped into the rear thrust plate.

On the 26th August 2007 at 13:10 at IRW 2007 in Scotland, Corpulent Stump
was launched and reached an altitude of approximately 6,000 feet on an Aerotech N2000W motor.
Thank you to UKRA, S & T, the CAA, BMFA and Damian Hall for all the admin
work that was done to allow this flight to happen.
We are currently gathering launch photos, so please bear with us.
