Troy Flavell was an outstanding captain and player for the Blues in the 2007 campaign. After missing the entire 2006 Air New Zealand Cup through injury, he regained his All Blacks spot and led from the front as the Blues made it to the semi-finals in 2007. Considered by many to be unlucky not to be in the All Blacks’ World Cup squad in France, the dynamic lock / loose forward is expected to be a major force in the 2008 Super 14.
