Linking to New York and the People. 911Truth.org honors and follows the September 11th families who fight for full disclosure; the first responders who paid the ultimate price; the Ground Zero workers who risked their health in the aftermath of the disaster; the New Yorkers and others who were primary targets of the trauma and psychological warfare of 9/11/2001; the researchers who are rigorous in logic and relentless in running facts to ground; the whistleblowers and eyewitnesses speaking out against the September 11th cover-up; and all citizens of courage who are ready to come forward in the fight for justice and truth.

We understand that September 11th was an international disaster that sparked a negative global transformation, and that control of its interpretation partly determines how one views the world. 911Truth.org looks not to create a new conspiracy industry, but to achieve full disclosure of hidden realities that affect all of our lives, that we may finally be sovereign as a democratic people. We work to win the hearts and minds of the people.

About Our Organizational Structure: 911Truth.org is a nonprofit corporation in the state of Missouri. We do not have tax-exempt status through the IRS. The members of the 911Truth.org Steering Committee, listed below, are the sole spokespersons for the organization. Grassroots contacts, local groups, and sites on the links page are listed for outreach and informational purposes only--911Truth.org does not speak for these individuals, nor do they speak for this organization. No groups, including those with 911truth.org in their name, are representatives of 911truth.org; for instance, NY911truth.org is an entirely separate, autonomous group, and does not have any representation on the 911truth.org Steering Committee. OUR MISSION

TO EXPOSE the official lies and cover-ups regarding the events of September 11th, 2001 in ways that inspire people to overcome denial, confront disturbing evidence and comprehend its implications for our freedoms and democracy.

TO PROMOTE, and in part provide, the best in investigative reporting, scholarly research and public education revealing the suppressed realities of September 11th as well as its aftermath and continuing exploitation for political and economic gain.

TO ORGANIZE and network grassroots communities promoting truth and reform; and to support their development with materials, coaching, conference calls, working retreats, and other tools to enhance the people's democratic powers.

TO SEEK justice and redress for those wronged on September 11th, or as a result of the events, beginning with complete disclosure of all records and evidence; reversal of all domestic and foreign policies following from the false premises of the official story; and full accountability for any and all individuals inside and outside the US government involved in the attacks who engaged in crimes of commission, facilitation, complicity, gross negligence, cover-up or obstruction of justice after the fact.

TO ADVANCE the rebirth of openly accountable constitutional and republican institutions that rigorously protect our natural rights and liberties; and are fiercely committed to truth, justice, equality, security and peaceful solidarity among all peoples of the Earth.

TO END, the regime and illicit power structures responsible for 9/11; and promote global grassroots cooperation to halt corporatist crimes, abuse and dominion worldwide.

EDITORIAL POLICY

We carefully review the articles, books, videos, sites and other resources published and linked on this site. Of the many works about 9/11 now in circulation, we strive to promote the best.
- We urge everyone to fact-check, engage in due diligence, and research issues from all angles. It is important to expose mistakes, and we are happy to correct our own when these occur.
- Some works about 9/11 forward ungrounded claims based on misinterpretations, distortions or even fabricated evidence. Others reveal racist or extremist biases. We avoid both types of distraction by focusing on the most promising lines of inquiry and bodies of evidence; those that have stood up to the scrutiny of peer review, have been subjected to expert analysis, and as a result are winning in the court of public opinion.
- Beyond issues of factual content, we prefer to disengage from individuals who employ vitriol or highly-charged rhetoric. We value positive and sober approaches over heavy-handed ones that might alienate potential allies.

Mike Berger, Media Coordinator Mike earned a degree in Sociology with a focus on human motivation, currently calls St. Louis home, is married, and owns a plastic recycling company and video production company. Born and raised in New York about 20 minutes from Manhattan, he enjoyed visiting Manhattan to watch the building of the World Trade Center complex. On September 11th, with family living and working in lower Manhattan, his cousin actually saw the first plane fly over his head while walking his dog. More than 14 months passed before Mike began to question the official story. Denial turned into curiosity after reading about significant purchases of put options on American and United airlines and several companies that occupied large portions of the WTC Towers, implying that identifiable parties may have profited from foreknowledge of the attacks. He began researching the critical issues surrounding the failure of government officials to perform their sworn duties and defend us from attack. After all, according to George Tenet, "the system was blinking red." What went wrong? Why were we so unprepared for the attacks in light of numerous, documented, specific warnings? Why have we not held a single person accountable at any level, considering the magnitude of these failures? More than two years of investigation resulted in a series of documentaries currently in production. The first, Improbable Collapse, examines how three steel-framed buildings collapsed on 9/11 when no steel framed building had ever collapsed from fire previously. Ever. "Never turn your back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!" -Winston Churchill

Paul Deslauriers, Grassroots Coordinator Paul has over twenty-three years experience as an organizational development consultant, management coach, and workshop facilitator. He has employed his innovative, new-paradigm concepts for “high energy group performance” with such clients as Hoechst, Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey Circus, IKEA, and over seventy TV broadcasting and advertising agencies. He authored IN THE HIGH-ENERGY ZONE: The 6 Characteristics of Highly Effective Groups. His most recent book is Bearer of Light: A Catalyst for Global Change. Paul, an eco-scientist turned business consultant, has a master's degree in mechanical and oceanic engineering. He attended a Catholic seminary and taught yoga and personal growth programs at Kripalu Center. He has conducted research in ocean and coastal ecology, and worked as an environmental consultant, for numerous organizations.

Jason King Jason King is an activist, parent and graphic designer. At the age of 17 Jason was a participant in the 1971 May Day demonstrations, and plaintiff in the class action suit Dellums v. Powell conducted through the ACLU, which established the precedent for monetary compensation for the violation of one's constitutional rights. The Supreme Court later cited this case as a precedent in the decision to grant compensation to Japanese Americans who in WWII were interned in American prison camps. From a family of WWII veterans, Mr. King's role has been to fight the injustices of war itself by lending his talents as a graphic artist to many organizations in campaigns to end the wars waged, from Vietnam to Iraq. In the 1980's Mr. King was a member of Communicators for Nuclear Disarmament, a media and design clearinghouse for the Nuclear Freeze movement. His goal is to continue creating professional level design and creative teams, to convey the urgent message of our time regarding the unanswered questions 9/11. Mr. King maintains that peace and truth are American values that transcend political ideologies, and that the fundamental principals of our republic enshrined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights need to be restored.

W. David Kubiak, International Campaign Advisor David worked for most of the last 30 years in Kyoto, Japan where he taught mass media and memetics at Ritsumeikan University, ran a blues bar, served on the board of Kyoto's Japan Civil Liberties Union, and organized direct democracy movements. Since returning to the States in 2000, he has organized populist chautauquas and 9/11 teach-ins with Jim Hightower, Ronnie Dugger, Grannie D, David Korten and others. His Ellen Mariani article, "9/11 in Neverneverland," won Project Censored's 2005 Top Ten Award. David ran for State Senate as a Green "9/11 Truth Candidate" from Kennebunkport, Maine.

Janice Matthews, Executive Director Janice was outreach coordinator with 911Truth.org until September, 2005 when she became executive director. She is also co-founder of the now-archived 9/11 Visibility Project, and focuses on facilitating activism and encouraging ordinary people to become participants and leaders in their own lives and communities. She has a B.A. from the University of Kansas, half a masters in social welfare and extensive training in direct-entry midwifery. She is a mother of six, a Kansas City native and radical Christian, and is working now to create a more self-sufficient/interdependent lifestyle. Janice is outraged about issues facing military troops and veterans-- abuse/rape, 'depleted' uranium, 'immunizations,' lack of care and support received--resulting in suicides and hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans, the horrifying 'non-lethal' weaponry used by the US, and our current mainstream media (please, "become the media"!) Decentralized People's movements are our hope for successful, nonviolent change in America, as has so often been the case around the world. (She recommends the amazing movie, "The Fourth World War," and the great book, "Globalizing Liberation," for more on this.) Truly, we are "the other."

Dan Nalven, Webmaster With a strong science background culminating in the Case Institute of Technology's electrical engineering program, Dan left school after the incident at Kent State University, 15 miles away. Since then a self taught student of the human social animal as a construction worker and eventually owner of a 5 employee, 5000 square foot specialty woodworking business, and father of four, Dan now considers himself a full time humanitarian, peace and truth activist and part time, semi-retired joiner who has returned to the skills of his youth as a programmer and systems administrator. Veteran of the DC peace march of April 1971 (and numerous protests since) he remains active on citizens rights and oversight boards for local planning, budget and policing issues in the Hudson Valley. An active member of the local volunteer ambulance corps since 1990 he spent 9/11/01 as the driver of a standby EMS ambulance crew at the Ossining Metro North rail station in ready service to any who stepped off the north bound trains that day. "Many were dust covered and disoriented. From our vantage point on the rail station overpass we could see the smoke rising from the city some 25 miles south."

Peter Phillips Peter Phillips is a Professor Sociology at Sonoma State University and Director of Project Censored. He teaches classes in Media Censorship, Sociology of Power, Political Sociology, and Sociology of Media. He has published ten editions of Censored: Media Democracy in Acton from Seven Stories Press. Also from Seven Stories Press is Impeach the President: The Case Against Bush and Cheney (2006) and Project Censored Guide to Independent Media and Activism (2003). Phillips writes op-ed pieces for independent media nationwide having published in dozens of publications newspapers and websites including Z magazine, Counterpunch, Common Dreams, Buzzflash, Social Policy, and Briarpatch. He frequently speaks on media censorship and various socio-political issues on radio and TV talks shows including Talk of the Nation, Air America, Talk America, World Radio Network, Flashpoints, and the Jim Hightower Show. Phillips earned a B.A. degree in Social Science in 1970 from Santa Clara University, and an M.A. degree in Social Science from California State University at Sacramento in 1974. He earned a second M.A. in Sociology in 1991 and a Ph.D. in Sociology in 1994. His doctoral dissertation was entitled A Relative Advantage: Sociology of the San Francisco Bohemian Club Phillips is a fifth generation Californian, who grew up on a family-owned farm west of the Central Valley town of Lodi. Phillips lives today in rural Sonoma County with his wife Mary Lia.

Bryan Sacks Bryan Sacks teaches philosophy at the University of Rutgers-Camden and Immaculata University.

Matt Sullivan Matthew Sullivan is founder and editor of the Rock Creek Free Press, a small independent newspaper in Washington, DC. He is also a member of dc911truth.org, a driving force in the 9/11truth movement in the nation's capitol. Trained in Chemistry at the University of Delaware he worked as a R&D; engineer at HP before taking graduate training in chemistry at the University of Texas in Austin. It was in Austin where he met his wife, Elaine and also where he became involved with the nascent Dell Computer Corporation, where he worked for 7 years, until 1993. Matt now lives with his wife and son in his home town of Bethesda, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC, since 1993 and has been involved in the 9/11 truth movement since early 2005.

Fred Burks Before resigning from the US State Department in 2004 due to excessive secrecy demands, Fred Burks served for many years as a language interpreter for presidents and other dignitaries. He interpreted for Bush, Clinton, Gore, Cheney, and many other top officials of the US and other countries. Having participated in numerous secret meetings where the only people allowed were the principles and their interpreters, he has acquired important inside information and contacts. After receiving a wealth of eye-opening information on major cover-ups from a number of respected friends and colleagues, Fred was inspired to develop this website in October 2002. Continually opening to divine guidance, Fred has dedicated himself both to getting the word out about the cover-ups, and to inspiring others to help transform ourselves and our world through love and empowerment. He is currently the manager and coordinator of WantToKnow.info. Fred has also helped develop and foster several inspiring communities and websites, including Moment of Love and Global Community for All. To read some of his inspirational writings, click here. Gabriel Day Gabriel has been active in the peace, social justice and environmental movements since 1979, starting the Peace Resource Project and 911sharethetruth.com. Formerly on the Steering Committee at 911truth.org as Outreach Coordinator, he has been enthusiastically involved in the 9/11 truth movement for over three years, traveling extensively within America. After an early adulthood as a Republican activist, Gabriel was an entrepreneur in the computer and wireless industries before being able to solely focus on his political activism. His areas of interests for the 9/11 truth movement are building successful strategies, infrastructure development, media creation, and articulating a positive vision of a post-9/11 truth world.

Jon Gold Jon is a web developer, and a web designer. He comes from the City Of Brotherly Love, and has been a member of the 9/11 Truth Movement for over 5 years. A lot of his work has focused on using the internet to promote the 9/11 Truth message, but he has also written several articles, confronted people like Rep. Weldon, interviewed family members Bob McIlvaine, and Donna Marsh O'Connor, contributed to the creation of 9/11: Press For Truth, attended the 2004 People's Commission in Washington D.C., the 2005 Truth Emergency Conference in Washington D.C., the 9/11 Revealing The Truth Reclaiming Our Future Conference in Chicago, the 9/11 Accountability Conference in Arizona, and the 9/11: Families, First Responders, & Experts Speak Out Symposium in West Hartford, CT. He served as a member of the 911Truth.org Steering Committee. He has taken on such actions as "9/11 Truth: Door To Door", and the "Eleventh Of Every Month Action." He has been one of the leading voices in the movement for the welfare of New Yorkers, and First Responders affected by the environmental impact of 9/11, and has held three fund raisers raising a combined total of over $6000. Jon currently runs a bulletin board called yourbbsucks.com which has updated daily news, as well as a 9/11 Truther Forum. He also has a blog at Visibility911.com. He has been instrumental in building bridges between the 9/11 Truth Movement, the 9/11 families, and the 9/11 First Responders. One day, he hopes those responsible are held to account for the 9/11 atrocities.

Dr. Faiz Khan Dr. Faiz Khan is a leader in New York's Muslim community, served as a triage doctor at ground zero, and is on the staff of Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Hillside, Queens. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the ASMA Society for Islamic Spirituality and serves as the Assistant Imam at the al-Farah Mosque in Manhattan and at the Islamic Center of Long Island. He has served as a panelist for the United Nations Committee of Religious Non-governmental Organizations and for the New Seminary's Interfaith Retreat on Spiritual Balance.

Eric Larson Citizen and truth activist. Erik supports the public's right to constitutional, transparent, public-interest government and full investigations with accountability, starting with 9/11.

Donna Marsh O'Connor A full-time suburban mother and realtor, Donna was formerly a teacher of writing and rhetoric. She is currently working on a book called Half Life. She does what she can to change the course of today’s events for her remaining children.

Michael Wolsey Michael Wolsey didn't look closely at 9/11 until 2 years after the attacks and spent a year researching 9/11 before he felt comfortable speaking out. Michael is the co-founder of the Colorado 9-11 Visibility Project, formed in July of 2004 and has helped to build a solid base of 9/11 activists in Colorado. Colorado 9/11 Visibility has sponsored many events, both big and small, across the front range of Colorado, and has been successful in getting 9/11 films on the cable access network in Northern Colorado. Michael has appeared on many radio programs in Northern Colorado and has guest hosted for George Flynn on his radio program "Words of Freedom," doing shows dedicated 9/11 truth. Michael hosts a weekly podcast titled Visibility 9/11, dedicated to exposing the fraud of the official story of September 11th. He continues to be active locally for 9/11 truth and for all the victims and their families and loved ones.

Barrie Zwicker Author, activist and TV and radio producer, Barrie spearheaded the International Citizens' Inquiry Into 9/11, Phase 2 in Toronto in May, 2004. For 15 years Barrie was the regular media critic for Vision TV, a cable channel available in 8 million Canadian homes. He was the first mainstream journalist in the world to challenge the official story of 9/11, and his series of seven commentaries on 9/11 aired weekly on Vision's "MediaFile" program starting Jan. 14, 2002. These were released as the video The Great Deception. During a long career in journalism he won several major awards, including the three top awards of the Education Writers Assocation and two fellowships, one to the University of Michigan and one at The Unviersity of Toronto. He worked for Canada's National Newspaper, The Globe and Mail, for eight years, and for the Toronto Star and the Detroit News. He owned and published the journalism review Content for seven years, and taught journalism at Ryerson University for as long.

2007 GOALS & PROJECTS

Commission Original Writing on 9/11
911truth.org has always brought its readers important essays from 9/11 researchers. This year, 911truth.org seeks to commission its own investigative journalism and research papers to generate new information on some of the more perplexing stories uncovered thus far. This effort would work in conjunction with another new initiative:

911truth.org Pamphlet Series
Each month 911truth.org would like to publish a pamphlet with scholarly and/or investigative pieces from past and present, in an accessible format, for individual distribution. For some issues, we will solicit work on particular topics from our general readership. At the end of the year, we will seek to publish a year-end collection in book form

911truth.org Working Groups Initiative
Millions of Americans are well aware of the lack of truth surrounding 9/11, and want to become more involved in the 9/11 truth movement. We are thus organizing the 911Truth.org Working Groups Initiative in response to that desire, expressed by so many of our readers. Working Groups now forming include:

Legal--Research, Representation, Networking - There are a number of legal working groups up and running, and 911truth.org liaises with some of them, but would like to improve its effort in this area.

Legislative Outreach & Lobbying - Dennis Kucinich recently said, "I'm listening" to 9/11-truth information. We know of other members of Congress who are likewise willing to look at some information. We need people on the ground, both in DC and at these elected officials' local offices, sharing 9/11 truth with them, requesting investigation, demanding action.

Research & Investigative Journalism / 9/11 Newswire - We receive lots of editorial submissions. But we need investigative research pieces focusing on specific aspects of the 9/11 crimes, and analytical articles to help readers make sense of the information.

Coalition-building - Both between 9/11 groups as well as activist groups not focused on 9/11.

Public Relations/Marketing - As with any valuable effort, the 9/11 truth movement must address public perceptions and broadly convey the information and need for action to the wider population and, in our case, work to counter negative perceptions generated by "debunkers" and much of the media.

Campus Outreach - College students are an important population to reach, but we are currently underserving them. If you are part of a college campus 9/11 group, (and we know there are many currently meeting), we are looking for you! Please contact us -- We would like to help you network with other campus groups, as well as discuss a potential 9/11 speakers’ tour of campuses.

Resource Development - There is a constant need for updating the information in our resources and finding new resources as they become available. 911truth.org is currently revamping its resources pages online to make free and low-cost resources more accessible and comprehensive.

Fundraising - Clearly, we need help in this area! Many of the projects we most want to undertake require funding. For instance, we desperately need, right now, to set up project-management/database software to effectively plug in the thousands of volunteers we're hearing from. Even with extremely frugal budgeting, we need more funds to run this organization and achieve the goals -- the ultimate goal, of course, is that soon there will no longer be a need for the organization!

International Outreach and Networking - We are making a special call to readers from outside the US to help our efforts to publicize 9/11 truth. Please contact us if you are interested in being a point of contact for 911truth.org

Campaigns/Projects Coordination - Various 9/11 groups are working constantly on many campaigns and projects; coordinating this information so it's available to everyone is needed to make all our work more effective.

Continue Coalition-building with Other Groups
We recognize the need to join forces with other groups working for government transparency and accountability for high crimes. We will continue our efforts in this avenue. In particular, we are currently working with several groups now focusing on impeachment to push for inclusion of 9/11 crimes--criminal negligence and obstruction of justice, at least--included in their conversations about impeachable crimes.

Commission A National Poll for Summer 2007
911truth.org has generated a great deal of publicity for 9/11 skepticism through the device of public polling. The two Zogby polls we've commissioned received significant press coverage and, more importantly, reveal that support for 9/11 truth is far wider than mainstream news agencies are comfortable reporting. We are planning another national poll with fresh questions for the time period between July 4 and September 11, 2007.

National Conference in August - Santa Cruz, August, 2007
Our 2006 national conference in Chicago was extraordinarily well attended and well-received. This summer we are planning a conference with a journalism theme. Details will be announced in full shortly (May, 07)

Speakers Bureau
A long overdue initiative is the creation of a 911truth.org Speakers Bureau. One of the best ways to generate interest in this important subject is to host a knowledgeable speaker for an evening's program. 911truth.org is working to secure commitments from approved speakers for its speakers bureau, which we hope to have completed by March. We'll post a frequently-updated schedule of speaking engagements for our readers.

State and Local Initiatives for 9/11 Truth & Accountability
We wish to identify mechanisms for state and local efforts, and support groups pressing for ballot initiatives, referendums, resolutions, etc.

Grassroots Organizers Support
The list of Grassroots Organizers has now grown to include some 41 states and seven countries. We will continue to manage this as an autonomous, decentralized form of activism, and make more resources available to them this year--low cost items for distribution, support for local events, communication channels, such as monthly conference calls and online discussion groups, and work to meet their future needs as they arise.

ABOUT US

A HISTORY OF THE 9/11 TRUTH MOVEMENT AND 911TRUTH.ORG

Ever since the moment of the first impact at the World Trade Center, a struggle has raged between two broad, competing ideas of what really happened on September 11th, 2001.

The US administration delivered an almost immediate verdict, which can be described as follows: Dispatched by Osama Bin Ladin's network and motivated by hatred and religious fanaticism, 19 suicide bombers hijacked four planes, crashed three of them into their targets, and caused the collapse of the Twin Towers as a consequence of the resulting damage and fires. The 19 men did not necessarily require any accomplices within the United States; and no one in the US government could have possibly anticipated or prevented the attacks.

Even as the administration exploited this Official Story (or "Official Conspiracy Theory") as the pretext to launch new wars long in the making, independent researchers began to accumulate a vast body of evidence suggesting a different narrative for 9/11: that of the False Flag Operation.

The 9/11 events and the anomalies in the official story raised Unanswered Questions about:
- the unprecedented failure of the US air defense system on the morning of the attacks;
- the AWOL military chain of command during the actual attacks, including the inexplicable behavior of the presidential entourage;
- the seeming impossibility of official claims with regard to Flight 77;
- the evidence that Flight 93 was shot down;
- contradictions and dubious evidence in the official claims about the alleged hijackers and masterminds, and doubts about their real identities;
- signs that the alleged hijackers enjoyed high-level protection against discovery by honest investigators;
- evidence that the alleged hijackers were financed by states allied with US intelligence;
- suspicious and massive international financial trades suggesting foreknowledge of the attacks;
- widespread signs of official foreknowledge and, in fact, advance preparation for the 9/11 attack scenario;
- the long-running links between Islamist fundamentalist terror cells and US covert operations, dating back to CIA support for the anti-Soviet mujahedeen and Osama Bin Ladin himself;
- the demolition-like collapse of the Twin Towers and of a third skyscraper, WTC 7;
- and questions concerning who could have logically expected to derive benefit in the aftermath of a massive attack on the United States.

The suspicions received further confirmation a few weeks after September 11th, with the arrival of anthrax letters targeted only at opposition politicians and media figures, and timed to coincide with the introduction of the USA PATRIOT Act.

Already within those first weeks, loose networks of researchers and investigators formed via the Internet to generally become known as the "9/11 skeptics." They presented substantial bodies of evidence to show that elements within the US government must have been involved in facilitating or orchestrating the attacks - in other words, that 9/11 was possibly a classic case of "false-flag" or synthetic terrorism, such as corrupt states have often perpetrated on their own citizens.

What motive would people in the US government or establishment have to commit crimes of this magnitude? The outrage caused by September 11th allowed the present administration to instantly implement policies its members have long supported, but which were otherwise infeasible. 9/11 was exploited to launch an open-ended, perpetual "war on terror," actually a war against any and all enemies the US government may designate. The case of Iraq shows that the target countries of this war need have nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11.

The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan were both planned and prepared in advance of September 11th, with the apparent motive of gaining geostrategic advantage and seizing vital resources. The architects of the Iraq invasion within the Bush administration had earlier been members of the Project for a New American Century. In the PNAC manifesto of September 2000 ("Rebuilding America's Defenses"), they admitted that the American people would be unwilling to pay the stiff price for US global hegemony, full-spectrum military dominance, and the imposition of a new order in the Middle East - unwilling, that is, in the absence of a catalyzing event, an epochal lesson such as a "new Pearl Harbor."

9/11 put the nation on a permanent war footing, allowed the extension of secrecy doctrines, and temporarily deified the President. The unprecedented public fear was stoked and exploited to allow a roll-back of domestic rights and liberties, as had long been advocated by key members of the Bush administration (and their allies in both major parties). 9/11 allowed the designation of "enemy combatants" in violation of international law; preventive detention and the open use of torture; the activation of long-standing "shadow government" plans; the passage of measures officially undermining constitutional government; and a wholesale re-definition of US geopolitics and American society itself.

Perhaps most important of all to potential conspirators, trillions of dollars in spending priorities were predictably shifted from "butter" to "guns" in the years after September 11th, unleashing a new wave of growth and profiteering in the war and security industries. 9/11 became a pretext for economic crisis management and transformation under the cover of war and counterterror.

From the beginning, those who doubted the official story saw the potential for achieving a different kind of global transformation. By exposing the great fraud to the public, the 9/11 dissidents hoped to reverse the policies adopted after September 11th; to end the wars; to reveal a long and sordid history of covert operations, black budgets and hidden economics; to wake up the American people to the reality of the globalist drive to corporate feudalism, which is destroying the natural environment and the lives of the planetary majority; and to motivate the people to act against this sea of troubles.

The first two years after September 11th saw the rise of the Families' Movement , which kept the issue of the "unanswered questions" alive, and which forced the creation of the official 9/11 Commission. The Bush administration acted to delay, stonewall and starve all official investigations - with the complicity of the mainstream media, who ignored the festering questions or at best ridiculed those who asked them.

Many signs confirmed that there was indeed a 9/11 Cover-up: outrageous conflicts of interest within official investigating bodies, such as the appointment of Henry Kissinger and then Philip Zelikow to the 9/11 Commission; destruction of evidence; the silencing of whistleblowers; and the promotion of the very officials who were responsible for the supposed failures of September 11th. For many, the 9/11 cover-up itself became the smoking gun pointing to wrongdoing: the untenable excuses of massive serial incompetence; the endless coincidences; the insulting fairy tale that "no one could have imagined planes as weapons"; the omission and suppression of any evidence contradicting the official story.

The 9/11 truth movement evolved alongside the families' movement. By the time of the second anniversary, in September 2003, the 9/11 skeptics network was able to draw thousands of participants to research conferences in New York City, Berlin, London, Toronto, the Bay Area, Durham NH, and other cities. March 2004 saw the "Citizens' Inquiry into 9-11: Phase One" at the historic Herbst Theater in San Francisco (where the UN Charter was signed). Researchers and dissidents from many cities and countries flocked to the movement's first great summit, achieving the first breakthroughs in the US mainstream media. The 9/11 truth movement entered American politics as a growing presence.

On the final days of the San Francisco conference, veterans of the previous two years of actions and energetic newcomers came together to contemplate how to:
- boost the resources available for 9/11 truth activism;
- sharpen the message and coordinate actions;
- conduct a national campaign for 9/11 truth, keeping in mind that full disclosure is likely to trigger enormous global transformations.

These meetings resolved to create a formal organization to serve these ends. As a result, 911Truth.org was launched in June 2004. (The web site at http://www.911truth.org had already served the movement as a switchboard and events calendar under the name of "9/11 Truth Alliance." That name is still shared by certain local activist groups, as in the Bay Area.)

Under its first executive director David Kubiak and current executive director Janice Matthews, 911Truth.org has been ahead of major developments, breaking exclusives, promoting the best in research and action, and orchestrating coups like the Zogby 9/11 poll of August 2004, which found that a majority of New York City residents believe government leaders were in some way complicit in 9/11 and a national Zogby poll in May 2006, which found that 45% of voting age Americans think "Congress or an International Tribunal should re-investigate the attacks, including whether any US government officials consciously allowed or helped facilitate their success".

The skeptical paradigm is now the subject of more than a dozen well-researched books and, since 2004, "Justice for 9/11," a citizens' complaint and petition to the New York State Attorney General, sponsored by 911Truth.org, 911CitizensWatch and World Trade Center Environmental Organization. The petition demands a grand jury be convened to investigate the still-unsolved crimes of September 11th (see www.Justicefor911.org).

With each passing year, the case for complicity has only become stronger. Since 2001, a wealth of new evidence has been accumulated on issues such as:
- the wargames and terror drills of September 11th, which appear to have provided the cover and means by which air defenses were circumvented and an inside job was executed;
- the thorough surveillance of the alleged hijackers by US and allied intelligence agencies for many years in advance of 9/11, including a stunning 2005 admission that a military program was keeping track of Atta and the other alleged ringleaders (Able Danger);
- the construction of "Osama Bin Ladin," "Abu Musab Zarqawi" and other alleged masterminds of terror through video fakery and at-times absurd propaganda; and
- the mounting evidence that the Twin Towers and WTC 7 were indeed destroyed by explosives planted in the buildings.

As its record of achievement shows (see below), 911Truth.org has proven extraordinarily effective in reaching the public, sparking involvement and raising awareness of deception, cover-up and the need for investigation and action.

We serve the public and the September 11th truth and justice movement by providing the leading Web portal to the 9/11 research and action community. 911Truth.org stands as one of the best publications in its own right, coupling mass appeal with vetted research that aims for the jugular, upholding highest standards of fact and logic, and archiving the best reporting, analysis, A/V material and teaching resources. From New York 2003 to Chicago 2006 - and Beyond
911Truth.org, its staff and board members look back on a long and proud record of co-organizing research and strategy conferences to expose the 9/11 cover-up. Several of these have been held in New York City, with other major gatherings in San Francisco and Toronto (2004), Berlin (2003), and the "Emergency Truth Convergence" (2005) in Washington DC, as well as many other events on a smaller scale. The conferences have acted as the nerve center of a growing 9/11 truth movement. They have also resulted in hundreds of hours of self-produced educational media, reaching millions of people with the facts of 9/11 through the Web, DVD and public-access TV broadcasts. We do not merely try to affect corporate media coverage of the issues; increasingly we are becoming the media. The legacy continued in 2006 with Revealing the Truth - Reclaiming Our Future, an international gathering that broke new ground for the 9/11 truth movement in Chicago.

The 9/11 Zogby Polls
41 percent of New York State residents agree with the belief that US government leaders knew about 9/11 in advance and consciously allowed it to happen, according to an August 2004 telephone survey of 800 adults. Commissioned by 911Truth.org, the survey also found that two-thirds of New York City residents support a new independent investigation into the crimes of September 11th. Thanks to the Zogby poll, 911Truth.org was able to show that the numbers of people harboring well-justified doubts about the Official Story are growing, and that 9/11 truth is a mainstream position. In a follow-up, we conducted the WBAI-FM/911Truth.org New York Lawmaker Survey of city, state and federal legislators representing constituencies in New York City. We aim to marshal support among members of the New York state assembly and senate, city council, and US congress for a new criminal investigation of September 11th, whether by the New York Attorney General, the Congress or a new, truly independent, non-governmental and non-corporate body. In May, 2006, 911Truth.org commission Zogby International to conduct another poll, this time national in scope. Results of that poll, which found that over 70 million voting age Americans distrust the official 9/11 story and support a new investigation of possible US government role in the attacks. Details are in our press release. Briefly, poll results indicated 42% believe there has indeed been a cover up (with 10% unsure) and 45% think "Congress or an International Tribunal should re-investigate the attacks, including whether any US government officials consciously allowed or helped facilitate their success" (with 8% unsure).

The Spitzer Complaint: "Justice for 9/11"
In 2004 the staff and board members of 911Truth.org researched, wrote and presented a complaint to New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, petitioning him to immediately convene a grand jury on the still-unsolved crimes of September 11th, 2001. Advised by Attorney Carolyn Betts, we published this thorough, well-grounded legal pleading at www.Justicefor911.org , in a partnership with 911CitizensWatch and the World Trade Center Environmental Organization. Unlike other states, New York allows no formal process for filings with the Attorney General. Given that Spitzer was unwilling to even talk about a new investigation, and has now become Governor of New York, "Justice for 9/11" is as much a public campaign as a legal one. The Petition of Solidarity in support of the complaint currently stands at 15,000 confirmed signatories. The action shall now extend to filings with attorney generals in other states, in the hope of sparking a cooperative approach based on the model of the tobacco and Microsoft cases. We shall pursue this effort until an Attorney General does his duty by the citizens of New York, or until other prosecutors show the courage and conviction that truth, justice and the security of the people demand.

The 911 Truth Statement
Launched to accompany the Spitzer Complaint, the Statement was signed by more than 100 luminaries from many fields, representing all political persuasions; among them are scientists, artists, writers, musicians, former government officials, a Congresswoman, and all three of the 2004 major third-party presidential candidates. The Statement was also signed by fifty members of September 11th families.

The Emergency Truth Convergence
A three-day conference in Washington DC (July 22-24, 2005) was timed to coincide with the one-year anniversary of The 9/11 Commission Report release. Georgia Rep. Cynthia McKinney also took the one-year anniversary as the occasion to hold hearings on Capitol Hill on July 22. These were broadcast on C-SPAN and took testimony from Paul Thompson, Nafeez Ahmed, Michael Ruppert, John Judge, Peter Dale Scott et al., most of whom also participated as speakers in the subsequent Emergency Truth Convergence organized by 911Truth.org. The "ETC" opened with a National Press Club briefing by Peter Phillips of Project Censored, New Pearl Harbor author David Ray Griffin, and documentary film-maker Danny Schechter. The "Defeat Lethal Deceit" rally at Lafayette Park on Saturday brought 9/11 truth to the public spaces of Washington for the first time. A C-SPAN "Book TV" taping focused on Nafeez Ahmed's The War on Freedom. A national "Beyond Downing Street" Town Hall meeting and 18 education and strategy sessions focused on unity among a few of the major "truth disclosure" campaigns, focusing not only on 9/11 but the US government's lies to justify the illegal invasion of Iraq; the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995; the stolen elections of 2000 and 2004; the poisoning of the world through the use of depleted uranium munitions; veterans' needs; corporate media control; and the continuing cover-up of the June 8, 1967 attack on the USS Liberty.

The Omissions Hearings
The 9/11 Citizens' Commission (New York City, Sept. 9th, 2004) posed a direct response to The 9/11 Commission Report . Co-chaired by former Rep. Cynthia McKinney (who has since returned to Congress) and former Bush I official Catherine Austin Fitts, the panel of citizens' commissioners included Ground Zero triage doctor Faiz Khan and September 11th family member Bob McIlvaine, father of Robert McIlvaine Jr. The commissioners heard testimony from witnesses, whistleblowers and leading 9/11 researchers, among them Indira Singh, Jenna Orkin, John Judge, Michael Ruppert, Michael Springmann, Kyle Hence, Nicholas Levis and others. The resulting video record is a highlight of peer-reviewed 9/11 research and public education. Eight hundred people attended the full-day event, which culminated with the world premiere of Barrie Zwicker's film, "The Great Conspiracy."

Monitoring the Government 9/11 Commission
Beginning in 2003, members of 911Truth.org and then-allied 911CitizensWatch attended & monitored all of the public hearings of the government's 9/11 Commission, until the publication of The 9/11 Commission Report . They lobbied the Commission to take testimony under oath, until it finally began swearing-in all public witnesses. They directed a campaign to assure that Condoleeza Rice's testimony was heard under oath and in public. Their hard-hitting press conferences on the concerns of the September 11th families were often broadcast on C-SPAN, and provided public support to whistleblowers like Sibel Edmonds and April Gallop. 911Truth.org co-published the Official 9/11 Cover-up Guide , Parts I & II. These brochures were distributed to the public, 9/11 Commissioners, family members and the press during the last two Commission hearings in May and June 2004 (and are still available online.) They kept track of the proceedings, providing in-depth reporting from the Commission beat, sometimes as the only source on major stories (such as the Max Cleland resignation). Finally, when the 9/11 Commission concluded what turned out to be a two-year-long whitewash, they exposed its omissions, distortions, failings and staggering conflicts of interest.

Telling Our Own Story: 911Truth.org members have written more than 100 articles for publications worldwide.

Media Breakthroughs: 911Truth.org Media Coordinator Mike Berger appeared on CNN's "Showbiz Tonight," in the aftermath to Charlie Sheen's controversial March 2006 comments. (See the clip at the "Multimedia" page.) 911Truth.org members and activities were the subject of cover features in New York magazine, The Village Voice and other major publications.

Breaking News: 911Truth.org and its staff members have broken a number of major news stories, including the revelation that, in the weeks after 9/11, the "black boxes" from the two airplanes that hit the Twin Towers were found by federal agents at Ground Zero. (The US government and the 9/11 Commission claim that "no traces" of these devices have ever been found.) 911Truth.org also published the original stories about Kevin Ryan, the whistleblower fired by Underwriters Laboratories in October 2005. Ryan revealed details of UL's materials testing for the government's World Trade Center study. (The studies showed that the WTC steel should have withstood the fires, raising doubts about official explanations of how the Twin Towers collapsed.) The 911Truth.org website is the venue of choice for new work by some of the movement's leading writers, including David Ray Griffin, David Kubiak, and many others.

David Kubiak's story on the press blackout of September 11th widow Ellen Mariani and her racketeering suit against the Bush administration won a prestigious Top Ten Award from Project Censored in 2004.

Video Revolution: We have helped support production of various high-quality, professional DVDs of unassailable facts relating to 9/11 truth, including some made for free or low-cost mass distribution, and campaign to air these on public access stations across the United States.

"Waking Amy": 911Truth.org ran a successful 2004 campaign to get New Pearl Harbor author David Ray Griffin on Amy Goodman's "Democracy Now!" broadcast.

Ever since the founding of 911Truth.org and its precursor, "The 9/11 Truth Alliance" at the same Web site, the group's board has initiated or played key roles in the following actions and events:

Protesting for 9/11 Truth: In cities across the US, 911Truth.org has distributed thousands of signs announcing the presence of 9/11 truth blocks at major antiwar rallies. Signs reading "Stop the 9/11 Cover-up" have appeared on the front pages of Newsday , the Los Angeles Times and many other publications. 911Truth.org provided full support to the largest street protests devoted exclusively to September 11th truth demands. On September 11th 2005 in New York City, hundreds of people marched from The New York Times building to the United Nations to "End the 9/11 Media Blackout" and demand an international truth commission. Massive protests at Ground Zero on September 11th, 2006 went down in history as "The Day the Lie Died," with over 2,000 participants.

"Summer of Truth 2004" (Aug. 2004, New York City) : A series of breakthrough events, that began with a week full of protests and teach-ins during the Republican National Convention and culminated with the 9/11 Citizens' Commission ("The Omissions Hearings") on Sept. 9 and the massive "Confronting the Evidence" show on Sept. 11 (the latter co-organized with Walden Three). These drew thousands of participants and led to a massive expansion of activist involvement in the most crucial of all locations for the movement.

DNC "Expose the 9/11 Cover-Up" (July 2004, Boston): Workshops and teach-ins, thousands of signs and flyers given to activists who gathered for the Democratic Party convention.

"Dude, There's More to the Story" (June 2004): Mass national leafleting of Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" on its debut at theaters across the US and Canada, urging viewers to learn about the issues that Moore's film did not approach and to get involved with 911Truth.org.

The second "International Citizens' Inquiry into 9-11" (May 2004, Toronto).

"Reframing 9/11" (Sept. 11-14, 2003): Four-day conference at Manhattan's Riverside Church, sponsored by WBAI-FM. 2500 people came to hear 30-plus 9/11 experts, scholars, progressive journalists, and movement leaders (Medea Benjamin, Kelly Campbell, Amy Goodman, Cynthia McKinney, Ray McGovern, Greg Palast, William Rivers Pitt, Michael Ruppert et al.)

"Unanswered Questions-Demanding Answers" (Berlin International 9/11 Summit, Sept. 7, 2003): More than 800 people including reporters from the entirety of the German mass media turned out to hear Nafeez Ahmed, Cynthia McKinney, Michael Ruppert and Daniel Hopsicker, German author Mathias Broeckers, the Italian magistrate Guido Salvini (who successfully prosecuted the true perpetrators of false-flag attacks in Italy in the 1980s) and many other European experts.
