Gwyneth Paltrow recently pissed off the good folks at PETA after wearing a fox stole in a Tod's ad, prompting the group to release a statement that said: "Gwyneth Paltrow won't be the apple of her daughter's eye if she continues to flaunt fur."

But PETA's senior vice president, Dan Mathews, spoke with the actress at the Fontainebleau Hotel opening in Miami over the weekend. According to Mathews, Paltrow was contrite, most likely aiming to avoid a flouring. He quoted the actress as saying: "That was awkward, and I'm glad you asked, because I do not wear fur at all." Except, of course, that time she wore fur. 

"It was a daylong photo shoot on a boat near Capri, and there were all sorts of poses with all kinds of clothes - none with fur," she added. "During one set-up, a stylist came up from behind and draped a stole around my shoulder. I didn't pay much attention to it, and when I noticed it was fur, I assumed it was fake fur, but did not ask, so it's my fault. I was very surprised when they ended up using that one shot out of hundreds for the centerpiece of the Tod's ads. I know it's not a great excuse, but I hope you and your members understand."

The New York Daily News reports that a federal investigation into how Farrah Fawcett's medical records were leaked to the National Enquirer, revealing the possibility of an ongoing relationship between hospital staffers and tabloids that has been going on for years.

Transcripts of conversations between insiders at Globe magazine and outside sources have revealed the inner workings of the dirt-digging that takes place when it comes to finding secrets on the health ailments of celebrities.

The recordings made by Globe managing editor Jim Mitteager about such stars as include Liz Taylor, Tom Cruise, Magic Johnson, Roseanne Barr, Paula Abdul, Vanna White and Al Pacino.

Private investigator Paul Barresi had the tapes handed over to him by Mitteager, and in turn, Barresi handed them over to the feds for the investigation. He told the News, "I remember the gleeful reaction from a Globe senior editor to the news that Dinah Shore had been diagnosed with cancer. It made my skin crawl. Nothing has changed inside the tabs."

Referred to simply as "Marshall," he's reportedly 22 years old and is working as her back-up dancer. They could just be good friends, I guess, despite pictures that seem to indicate otherwise.

Hmm, it seems that this would be as good a time as any for her mom to impose a ban on Miley's computer use, which Star magazine claims Tish Cyrus is doing. Tish might want to also snatch that digital camera out of her hands while she's at it.

One thing's for sure. This kid isn't going to be too happy when he hears about any of this.

First off, Vanity Fair published an in-depth article about Bill Clinton by Todd Purdum. In it the author hints that the former president's behavior in the past few years has been quite frisky, mentioning "more recent high-end Hollywood dinner-party gossip that Clinton has been seen visiting with the actress Gina Gershon in California."

The quote had both Gershon and Clinton up in arms, with the Bound star demanding through her lawyers from the law firm Lavely & Singer (the same firm dealing with this mess) that a retraction be printed, as well as a correction to the story. Gershon's camp claims that the piece "outrageously insinuates that Ms. Gershon has had an inappropriate sexual relationship with President Clinton. This is absolutely false."

As for the former president, his reaction was just as vehement, calling Purdum "sleazy," "dishonest," "slimy" and "a scumbag." Since then, wife/presidential hopeful Hillary has apologized via her campaign for the remarks, which she claims were "inappropriate."

But really, what would this election be without a good, old-fashioned Clinton sex scandal?

The Chinese media has lashed out against Sharon Stone for comments she made at Cannes. She's been dropped from Christian Dior's Chinese advertorials for musing that the Chinese government's rulership of Tibet is what caused the earthquake in China last week that killed almost 100,000. Yeah, because I'm sure all of the Chinese schoolchildren that were buried alive had a lot to do with Tibet. This bitch needs to shut her yap.

Chinese media agency Xinhua News labeled Stone a "public enemy of all mankind". And Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said that "we hope that as an actress she should contribute to our two peoples' mutual trust, understanding and friendship," he said.

Supercrazycougar Stone has issued a public apology to the people of China and offered to aid in relief efforts due to the earthquake.

"Due to my inappropriate words and acts during the interview, I feel deeply sorry and sad about hurting Chinese people," she said in the statement.

"I am willing to take part in the relief work of China's earthquake, and wholly devote myself to helping affected Chinese people."

Despite her apology, Dior will no longer be featuring her in their ads in China. Damn, what's she gonna do for animal print money now?

Ugh, here's some snaps of Lindsay Lohan and Co. with some bags they were either paid to carry for photos or got for free because the designers knew they'd be shot with them. There's always an angle with these tricks. Then again, maybe Linds got handsy at the club again and made off with some other broads' bags which she then gifted her family with. No, you say, who would be dumb enough to be photographed with stolen merchandise. Gee, I don't know...

The only one I have any respect for is Cody Lohan, because little man just wanted to carry his jacket and didn't let his hag mother gay him up with a murse or some shit. Stick to your principles, Cody!

And the run-down? Lindsay is sporting the Dolce & Gabbana python skin bag, of which only ten were made. Hag-in-waiting Ali (seriously, check the photo) is handling the $1850 Jimmy Choo Ramon Biker bag, and that horrible mother of theirs has the Gucci horsebit bag. News from the Lindsay front. Her girlfriend Samantha Ronson is denying that Lindsay is her betrothed. If you'll recall, several pictures popped up recently of Lindsay and Sam canoodling on the deck of Diddy's yacht in Cannes recently. Those were the most staged looking pictures in the history of publicity-whoring. Even Spencer and Heidi were like "wow, they could have made it a little more natural." For real, Samantha looked like she was the most taken advantage of lesbian on earth. Anyway, Ronson was recently asked if the ring Lohan was sporting at the Dolce & Gabbana party the night after the photos was an engagement ring.

"Not true," Ronson reportedly answered, She followed it up with "I'm a f*cking DJ. How much do you think we get paid? Like I could afford that ring! I'm lucky if I get an extra bump of coke from the cheap-ass promoter after I'm done spinning!"

So, remember when we were talking about the video of Angelina Jolie in a drug den that was rumored to be circulating? Well, it's no big surprise that she's done drugs in her past - she's been pretty forthright about that. Regardless, The Sun has posted the video of what appears to be a wasted and rambling Angelina Jolie from her less humanitarian days.

She babbles on pretty consistently about kinky sexual preferences, former pets and God knows what else. Seriously, she barely stops talking long enough to take a breath. I swear to God, I would kill myself if I had to pretend to be fascinated by someone rambling that long about the most inane shit like how their pet bunny died when they were six or whatever. It's exhausting and I wasn't even there. I'm been pretty good at avoiding conversations like these at parties and after watching this little bit, I think I might need a nap.

And why are you wearing that? Minnie Driver still isn't spilling as to who sperminated her. But she's shooting down suggestions and dropping some hints.
