Autoroute de la Gatineau (A-5)

A-5 map
a5map.jpg

This freeway wich runs along the Gatineau Park links Ottawa to the northern part of Outaouais Urban Community. A-5 was planned to end north of La Pêche community. There is an isolated section multiplexed with R-366. It is completely 4-laned and access-controlled though there are no interchanges (expressway-like).

A-5 gap between Chelsea and La Pêche will be eliminated before 2011, said Transports minister Lawrence Cannon. Also, the extension of A-5 northward, up to Low, is not necessary with satisfying traffic rates on this road.
