Parking for the Evening Parade

Directions to the Reserved Parking at Marine Barracks From:

From the South: Take I-95 North to I-395 North. Follow I-395 North until you cross the Potomac River and enter Washington DC. After crossing the river, watch for and follow signs for I-295 South. Do not take the I-395 North exit into the 3rd Street tunnel. Follow I-295 and watch for the 6th Street Southeast/Navy Yard exit. Move to the right hand lane and take the 6th St. SE exit. this will put you on Virginia Avenue which parallels the freeway. Watch for signs directing traffic into the left lane for reserved parking at Marine Barracks. Turn left at 8th Street.

From the North: Take I-95 South to I-495 South (Northern Virginia). Then, George Washington Parkway to I-395 North. After crossing the river, watch for and follow signs for I-295 South. Do not take the I-395 North exit into the 3rd Street tunnel. Follow I-295 and watch for the 6th Street Southeast exit. Move to the right hand lane and take the 6th St. SE exit. this will put you on Virginia Avenue which parallels the freeway. Watch for signs directing traffic into the left lane for reserved parking at Marine Barracks. Turn left at 8th Street.

By Metro Rail

The nearest Metro station is the "Eastern Market" stop on the Blue or Orange line. Exit the metro station and proceed to the right on 8th Street, S.E. Marine Barracks will be on your left 3 blocks from the Eastern Market metro station. Go to www.wmata.com for details.

 

Information for Public Parking at Maritime Plaza from:

By Air

Baltimore/Washington International Airport (301) 261-1000 or I-FLY-BWI ; Group sales (410) 859-7032 Domestic & International flights. Located approximately 30 miles east of DC, taxi fare to downtown Washington is about $45 . However, on weekdays there are over 50 trains running between the airport and Union Station provided by Amtrak and the Maryland Rail Commuter Service. The 40-minute ride costs $5 on MARC and $13 on Amtrak. The SuperShuttle buses that run from BWI to downtown Washington cost $21 ($31 round-trip) and take about 65 minutes. Washington Dulles International Airport (703) 661-2700 Domestic & International flights, Located approximately 25 miles west of Washington, taxi fare to downtown Washington is about $40. Washington Flyer buses provide service to downtown DC. The ride takes about 45-minutes and costs $16. Call (703) 685-1400 for information. National Airport (703) 661-2700 (703) 417-8000 Domestic & Commuter flights Located four miles south of Downtown Washington, taxi fare to the city is about $12. SuperShuttle buses from National Airport to downtown Washington cost $8 ($14 round-trip) and take about 20-minutes. Call (800) 258-3826 for information. The National Airport is also accessible by the Metro's blue and yellow lines.

By Bus

Greyhound and Peter Pan buses arrive and depart from the bus terminal located at 1005 1st Street NE, not far from Union Station. Call (301) 565-2662 or (202) 371-2111 for more information.

By Rail

By Metro Rail

The closest stop to Maritime plaza is the Navy Yard Station on the green line. From there, travel .8 miles east. Both Maritime Plaza and the Navy Yard Station are on M Street.
