27/02/2007The Lazio Region for the 13th FINA World championships
This was the topic of the press conference which was held on the 27th of February at 12.00 am in the Sala Tevere at the Lazio Region Head Office. At the speakers table there was the President of the Organizing Committee Giovanni Malagò, the President of the Fédération Internationale de Natation Mustapha Larfoui, the President of the Lazio Region Piero Marrazzo, the President of the Italian Swimming Federation Paolo Barelli, the Lazio Region Councillor for Culture and Sports Giulia Rodano and the Banca Intesa Sanpaolo Director of Communications Vittorio Meloni.
The General Director of the 13th FINA World Championships – Roma 2009 Roberto Diacetti, the General Secretary of FINA Cornel Marculescu, the President of the Ligue Européenne de Natation Bartolo Consolo and the Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Luca Albanese, were also present. Massimiliano Rosolino, Olympic Champion of the Sydney 2000 two hundred Medley, is the initiativE’s Testimonial.
The 13th FINA World championships – Roma 2009 will be held in Rome from the 18th of July to the 2nd of August 2009. The Lazio Region will support the Roma 2009 Organizing Committee and the Italian Swimming Federation through an infrastructural program which shall enhance the Capitals sports complexes.
During the press conference the Saatchi & Saatchi Creative Director Luca Albanese presented the 13th FINA World Championships logo and website. The logo is inspired by the waves created in the water by athletes. In this case five stylized waves are formed, recalling the five aquatic disciplines of the Championships. These graphic elements reflect the energy and dynamism of this global event. These waves shoot out, reaching out to all with a message of sportsmanship and a call for peace, concord and brotherhood amongst nations.
