Elektromotive, a provider of electric-vehicle charging stations, is set to install its 100th charging bay in London by the end of May. There are currently 80 in the capital.
The firm is also in advanced talks with cities in the Midlands and the North-East to expand the infrastructure - another 40 bays are installed in various locations across the UK. The points provide a power output of 240 volts AC and 13 amps.
Calvey Taylor-Haw, Elektromotive managing director, says: "Access to charging stations across the UK will be crucial to the successful shift towards zero-emissions motoring. Our aim is to have Elektrobays on every street and in all car parks around the UK."
The company has recently collaborated with Renault-Nissan to install charging points in cities across the globe as part of the automotive manufacturer's planned zero-emission mobility policy.
