Adam Lambert's 30-second tease(s)

RCA
Lambert is ready to strike a superstar pose.

Another day, another Adam Lambert annoucement -- and this one's a biggie.

The fine folks at amazon.co.uk have put up 30-second teasers of every song on For Your Entertainment, due for release this month.

Screeeeeaaaaam!

And why wait until the full CD leaks arrives to weigh in on the disc? Here, my instantaneous thoughts on every track:

1. Music Again: Big, brash choruses worthy of a Def Leppard tune. "You make me wanna listen to music again!" Lambert gushes.

2. For Your Entertainment: The first single is sexy, outer-space blast of electro goodness. Finally, an Idol alum taking real chances on his first album.

3. Whataya Want From Me: Probably the disc's most straightforward cut, with a bit of a Backstreet Boys vibe. Not bad.

4. Strut: Not a remake of the Sheena Easton tune (SIGH), but similiar to the title track.

5. Soaked: A moody piano ballad that could have come from the Broadway stage. Think Adam of the Opera.

6. Sure Fire Winners: Zippy vocal arrangement and a thrusting electro vibe. Probably killer in its full version. How can it not be with the line, "I was born with glitter on my face/My baby clothes made of leather and lace?" LOVE.

7. A Loaded Smile: Gauzy and seductive, with Lambert claiming he "never felt so satisfied."

8. If I Had You: Another confident, charging club track. Divas to the dance floor, please!

9. Pick U Up: Sort of a sonic sibling to Pink's So What. A good thing.

10. Fever: Anthemic and pulsing and sexy and ZOMGLOVEIT. Lambert's delivery is killer. (Hear the demo by Lady Gaga, who wrote the song, above.)

11. Sleepwalker: This tune boasts a dark industrial chug that sounds like it builds as it progresses.

12. Aftermath: The best part? Crazy vocals that probably soar sky-high by the end.

13. Broken Open: An emotive ballad with interesting twitches that break up the routine.

14. Time For Miracles: Lambert's big 2012 number that's clearly out of place. It just doesn't match the quality of the rest of the disc.

Overall, this only increases enthusiasm for the full effort. Glambert seems to be going for a Robbie Williams-meets-Rihanna vibe, and most of all, it sounds FUN. Isn't that what pop music is supposed to be about, anyway?

Listen to the clips yourself HERE. And let me know your thoughts!

Follow me on Twitter for music news, reviews, live-tweeting from concerts and events and, of course, all things Glambert.

Love love love it! Thanks for posting the link. Sounds like a good collection of tracks, except for that crappy "Time for Miracles" track - agreed - completely out of place, the track *sounds* like a generic song to sell a soundtrack to a movie - way beneath Adam's talented voice.

Been listening to them all day. LOVE every single one of them! IMO, lots of potential #1 hits.

I can't believe this is an Idol alum album. It sounds fantastic!! Love Music Again and Broken Open. FYE was definitely the best first single choice but there are other hits as well!

Posted by: liz at November 3, 2009 05:27 PM

I agree, can't believe this is an Idol album, Adam Rules, and will for a long long time, love every song,

Can't wait until I can buy the whole thing!!! I really like Broken Open and Strut, ooo, and Fever, that was good too. can't wait...!!!

I have been listening to this over and over again, and I can't wait to receive my cd in the mail. Thia is an amazing mix. No one but Adam could have sung these songs ranging from rock to pop to almost Broadway (Soaked) with so much emotion and such vocal skill. I can hardly wait to see the music videos that go with these tracks, and his live show will be nothing short of spectacular. Just imagine Adam singing these live with dancers, costumes, and a light show. I almost went nuts when I saw him in AI Live, and I'm sure that was very tame compared to what his For Your Entertainment Tour will be.

Lambert left "Idol" behind long ago. Based on the snippets, this is going to be an album that I am going to love every song and put it on continuous loop on the iPod. When does that EVER happen. I am blown away at the quality of this debut album and truly believe we are seeing the birth of a superstar. He has the whole package. Am right there with you screeeeeeeming all the way to 11/23!

I love the diversity of this CD. The tracks: Broken Open, A Loaded Smile and Soaked sound gorgeous. I'll bet they really showcase Adam's voice. It's really hard to get a real sense of what the CD sounds like. The songs in their entirety could be amazing and surprising but so far so good. I like it a lot. Also, I think everyone is being too hard on Time for Miracles. It's absolutely perfect for the movie and so is Adam's performance vocally and video wise.

great review!!
Love the music, buying the CD

Posted by: jeff at November 3, 2009 07:38 PM

Wow, and here I was just hoping for an album that didn't suck. But DAMN, I actually like something about every track and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE 8 of them. Color me shocked that Adam managed this right outta the Idol gates. These snippets leave me wanting more, it's gonna be a long ass 3 weeks till the album drops!

Time for Miracles is a little jarring after Broken Open, but I enjoy it for what it is, a blockbuster movie ballad, so I don't mind, and it's the iPod era anyway so I can rearrange things however I want.

And LOL forever at the "I was born with glitter on my face, my baby clothes made of leather and lace" lyric, it's SO ADAM and I absolutely adore singing along to that.

flove it and flove ADAM--epic!!!

Posted by: sadie at November 3, 2009 08:06 PM

I think perhaps this music is historical for a few reasons. A. Adam's vocals are masterful, powerful, and not like anyone we have heard of before. B. He seems fearlessly confident about who he is and what he wants to do. He takes risks and sometimes they pay off and sometimes they don't but he is not afraid and has the chops to back up anything he wants to do, although I hope he edits his "glam" in a sophisticated way, none of us can wait to see what he will do next!! C. He is who he is and proud of it and it will be reflected in his work.

If he is looking for a song to make his mark on the AMA"s, I suspect "Surefire Winners" and/or "Aftermath" might just do it!!! Hard to tell with only 30 sec.

They great thing about this album is that satisfies people with different music taste.

FLOVE Sure Fire Winners and Strut. Love every song on this album. Adam has done it. Number 1 hits all around. ICONIC for sho!!!!! U GO ADAM!!!!

Posted by: adamsluvjnes at November 3, 2009 09:54 PM

Holy Moly this CD is killer!!! Even I am shocked at how fantastic it sounds!! I've listened to the snipets over and over and just want to scream!! Adam's voice is stunning!!! Songs like 'Soaked' and 'Broken Open' crawl down deep into your guts. Wow!! The rock stuff is gutsy and thrilling!! Love the GLAM, edgy feel. There is only 1 song I am not sure whether I will love. Damn - Adam has delivered as promised!!! I want it NOW!!!

Posted by: Jenn at November 3, 2009 10:27 PM

From the snippets, I already love Muse's Soaked, A Loaded Smile, Broken Open and of course TFM only because it's ADAM's voice that dominates. I just wonder if this electronic-pop style can be produced without drowning ADAM's voice which is the most beautiful instrument of all. It should be the focal point because there's no other like ADAM. I love the danceable tunes but don't like it if the electronic sound competes with ADAM's singing. I believe some are over produced. But it's ADAM, thus all songs will be great listening pleasure.

I Love Time for Miracles. It's a beautiful and Adam's voice is amazing in this song. Well,I love everything Adam sings. Great Adam.

I have been listening to all the snippets non-stop since it came out yesterday and am insanely IN LOVE with every single song. I know Adam will be on the Billboard charts for a very long time!!! His album is a DREAM COME TRUE! Well done Adam!!!!!

Posted by: Dunsa at November 4, 2009 12:15 AM

Time for Miracles will be a Hit song as long as
they take out the very last part, which seems to
draw out the song to much. Other then that you
will here that song all over the radio when it comes out. Good song.

OmGggggggg!! I am loving fever, soaked, loaded smile and broken open!! So haunting! I actually got goosebumps. The other songs are okay, maybe it will grow on me, since these are only 30 second snippets... Music again is soo queenish, but it has style..., some songs are somewhat boybandish or david cook ish, I dunno, but tfm and for ur entertainment remains epic

Posted by: Amanda at November 4, 2009 03:44 AM

This is incredible. Every time I listen to those sample tracks, I like them more and more. There's not a dud in the bunch -- no wonder they took so long deciding which song to release as the first single! My favorite is "Fever," so raunchy and playful. I hope Adam makes a video to that one. Other standouts (to me) are "Strut" "Pick U Up" and "Loaded Smile." "Aftermath" sounds like it belongs on a television show, maybe One Tree Hill or something, and "Soaked," as someone already pointed out, could be the theme to the next Bond film. Juicy good stuff! I can't wait to hear the songs in their entirety!

Gorgeous, fun, eclectic goodness all over this cd. Loving it so much. Can't wait for the full songs. Sleepwalker is my fave of the second.

Posted by: Dorena at November 4, 2009 07:28 AM

Broken Open sounds like Madonna. Love it.

Posted by: kathy at November 4, 2009 10:04 AM

I LOVE every song on the album. I've listened to the snippets at least 20 times and have a new favorite each time. I think Pick U Up is amazing. No one seems to comment on that song. It's my favorite at this moment. Way to go Adam. Can't even imagine how awesome he will be on tour. I saw him at three AI performances and he took my breath away.

Posted by: Teresa at November 4, 2009 10:45 AM

Love the sound can't wait for November 23, 2009 to go purchase and listen to the whole CD. His voice is just AMAZING in every song. All I can say is can't wait for November 23rd, is can't come fast enough for me.

Posted by: sue at November 4, 2009 11:36 AM

I love TFM . It shows off his amazing vocals. I think it is awesome. Also like FYE. A loaded smile and Soaked are beautiful. But think Music again is the one he needs to release next- its out there. To me in parts it sounds like ABBA. Am lovin' Justin Hawkins right now. Go Lamkins!!

Posted by: karen at November 4, 2009 12:41 PM

Incrdible!!! Surpasses all of my expectations. AI performances pale next to this album.

Posted by: JV at November 4, 2009 01:09 PM

I am blown away by this CD. I was a little worried, I have to admit. I just love them all,Even Time for miracle. I fell in love with Broken Open,It gave me the chills right away. For me. it's an indication for a smash hit ballad. I love them all. Music Again is AMAZING. all of the songs are GREAT B/C Adam sing them. His voice is raising my hair every time I listen to him. I am SOOO happy for Adam. I want him to keep being wild and do what he wants to do. He is a vet gifted musician.

Have been listening to these snipets since yesterday (What?? I have never been compelled to do that before!!) I can say right now Amer Idol is history - Adam has arrived on planet earth!!! This album is beyond my wildest imagination and it is EPIC!! Best album of the year from what I can tell.

OMFG Love it all

Greetings :

I might have chosen a different picture for the cover of the new CD, because Adam has taken some great photo shoots recently and looks absolutely gorgous. Adam is Adam and the reason we like him is because he is over the top and different. Adam likes to "dress up" - he always has since childhood. This particular picture truly shows more of Adam's personality than many other good pictures of him. The picture lets you see into Adam's eyes and sole, and also shows his andrygenous sides. He has an abundance of both factors, along with all his other talents - he is going to be unstoppable and will ride the fame wave for many years to come - an International Star.

But still, in the end I say "aaaaaaaa NO" to the picture chosen >>>>> (sticking out my tongue for effect.") But, I DO GET IT " !

Most of all, I am looking forward to hearing WHAT'S INSIDE - that's most important by far for me. We like Adam's tastes and have faith and hope that this CD will be received as well as we fans have longed for - he always gives 110 % and never lets his fans down. So, come on Nov. 23 / 24 -- "the whole world is watching". Next time can we have a "DVD" - for we love to watch our Adam !

Adam sure seems well prepared for his new found fame, and handles himself alone without problem - IN HIS INTERVIEWS AND EVERYWHERE ELSE AS WELL.. He sems so grounded, good manners, very well raised by his family - THANKS Mom & Dad for everything. Yes, Adam is a dream come true - a REAL SWEETIE. We are so proud of our Adam.

So excited at the drop of his newest CD ll -23/24. ONE FINE MAN IS HE I

Adam: May the heavens bless and keep you well and safe.
Absolute Fan, Sharie K

Apparently the snipps are no longer at that site but I did find another that still has them. I love this entire album and cannot wait until it arrives in my mailbox. adamlamberttv.blogspot.com ... is the site where the album can be previewed along with tons of info about ADAM.

I am loving this. I'm so sorry to hear the negative comments on Time for Miracles. Yes, the song itself is a little cheesy and the production bombastic but it's for a disaster movie. What did you expect. But just listen to the vocal. An e5 with no loss of vocal power and perfect breath control. Come on, how many guys can do that? I can't wait to hear sleepwalker, music again, soaked, broken open, fever, and sure fire winners in their entirety. I have a feeling this will be on a continuous loop on my iPod for a long time. Great job, Adam

Posted by: Elaine at November 6, 2009 12:16 PM

Just CAN'T WAIT!!!! All the songs sound great :)
