She attended the conservatory in Košice and launched her coreer as a professional singer after meeting producer Martin Kavulič, who also composed the song Horehronie. Her first single was released in 2007 but she had her major breakthrough the year after when Vráť mi tie hviezdy became a hit in Slovakia. Her first album was released in 2008 as well.

The esctoday.com poll voters agreed with the choice. Kristina was the clear favourite in the poll getting impressive 68.5% of the votes. None of the other acts left a major impact in the poll although the two acts that tied for second place in the poll, Tomáš Bezdeda and Mista (7.5%) both did very well in the national final finishing third and second respectively.
esctoday.com national final awards 2010
The 2010 esctoday.com National Final Awards will be held between April and May, which means between the national final season and the Eurovision Song Contest. We will repeat the same format with two rounds for nominations which was used this year - you can read how it works here. However, this time the individual polls for each country will always be held right after the national final, when the entries are still fresh. You can vote for your favourite performance not to qualify in the Slovak national final here and for your favourite song not to qualify here.

great job slovakia! hopfully top 10 in finals!
this is a plagiarism..Slovaks, go and hear Oj devojce, macedonian song from Tose Proeski and Synthesis from 6 years ago...
Good choice, finaly a nice and normal song. Good luck Slovakia! 10 points from Bosnia!

It´s quite Ok I guess.
I listened both two songs and they are clearly different.
There are always people that will say some songs similar with Esc songs.
Good luck Kristina and Slovakia.
C'mon! Oj Devojce is absolutely a different song in every way.
I hope Slovakia will win this year. The best song I heard so far
This song is not stolen. Experts was asked to compare this two songs and the verdict is they are 3-4% similar in melody and rhythmic similarity is zero. Results was released at official Eurosong 2010 page of STV
http://www.stv.sk/eu(...)ronie-nie-je-plagiat
title says "Horohronie IS NOT plagiarism"
However, there is no need to translate it because everyone can hear it. Except the "ethno" style and green light, there is nothing similar
It is a nice song - but it is STOLEN from a Macedonian traditional song called Oj Devojce!!! Take a look at Tose Proski singing the song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcTC-g85qS4
There are rumours in Macedonia that actually this song is imitation of macedonian traditional song "Oj Devojce" its on our news..... They also mentioned that Slovakia is thinkig to disqualify this song and send the second one in their NF
Pleasant enough but about 6-7 years too late IMO...

English text of the song:
When the sun tilts on Horehronie,
I want to sing, live and die.
When the sun tilts on Horehronie,
I want to be closer to heaven.
On the grass I lie and dream,
about what I do not know.
In the breeze, which wobbles me,
when the sun is low.
The most beautiful trees are in Horehronie,
This quiet brotherhood says come to me.
I will always be here
when something hurts me.
trees say throw the misery away from your shoulders.
On the grass I lie and dream,
about what I do not know.
In the breeze, which wobbles me,
when the sun is low.
-oh-oh-Laj Laj - ......
When the sun tilts on Horehronie,
somewhere in the distance, our bell rings.
if it hurts;
so let me hurts
once it loses in the black mountains.
On the grass I lie and dream,
eyes silently crying,
In the breeze, which wobbles me,
when the sun is low. (2x)
This is really best song for this year. Its beautiful girl slovak girl, and beautiful slovak song.
SLOVAKIA this year you're the winner in eurovision 2010.
congratulations from UK
link for song http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=Bz9v-QdMFXc
Its nice, yet not as powerful as Ruslana was
anyway, good luck Slovakia
This is growing on me, there's a great beat. Maybe if she made the most of that with a much better dance routine this would work much better. Love the outfits.
Nice song, not outstanding, but miles better than most of the rubbish through so far.
A pleasant song

Like this one.... could do well although Slovakia doesn't has a lot of friends to support them. Good song.
The songs is perfect (as always from Slovakia...) BUT she must change BOTH choreography and outfit!
Nice song and performance. But this lacks some power. I feel I miss something when I listen to the song. But for now it's one of my favorites.
ilcielo you forgot Marija Serifovic (2007)
The best song so far good job Slovakia! It should be the winner!
But unfortunately since 2005 no female singer won the ESC and I don't think it will happen this year either (although you definitely deserve it)
this one is ok, but far from excellent
meh this song is ok, slight improvement from the stuff some conutries have have gave us.. but the backing drum beat sounds the same the whoel way through.. the song needs alot of work & sounds like a demo version i like from 2.45 onwards
