Like with many comeback artists, G-Dragon’s been flooded with inquiries for clothing promotions and brand deals, but he’s been dealt the trump card with a clothing sponsorship from Louis Vuitton, arguably the king of all luxury brands around the world. As one of the oldest and most successful fashion houses out there, LV needs no introduction. We’ve seen fashion trends that trace back to Louis Vuitton on the kpop scene, including those infamous bunny ears on SNSD & G-Dragon himself.

It seems like GD’s head-turning tastes in style are really paying off. The unconventional fashion apparent in his previous pictorials in ‘W’ Magazine have become a hot issue within its targeted audience, catching the attention of many companies, Louis Vuitton included. In fact, the negotiations for a sponsorship between YG Entertainment and Louis Vuitton have been in wraps for a while.

This is the first time Louis Vuitton has sponsored anyone in Korea, and YG Entertainment is already getting a lot out of the deal. LV’s collection will certainly be top of the line; they’ve already given G-Dragon a pair of shoes from Kanye West’s recent limited edition collection. LV also didn’t ask for a photoshoot in exchange for the shoes, a request most companies typically ask for during a celebrity sponsorship. So basically, this means free shoes from Louis Vuitton for general publicity’s sake… that’s not too shabby an offer!

Straight out of the Kanye West X Louis Vuitton, released in June 2009… $860 for a pair of kicks, slightly on the pricey side. I will never understand why someone would pay that much for some rubber and cloth to cover your feet, but to each his own!
