Tom Felton, who portrays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox's Rise of the Apes. Felton will play Brian Cox's son, co-owner of the ape facility, in the Planet of the Apes sequel. James Franco, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis and John Lithgow also star. Set in San Francisco, "Apes" revolves around man's experiments with genetic engineering that lead to a dramatic increase in the intelligence of apes and the onset of war for supremacy. Rupert Wyatt is directing the film from a script by Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa. Rise of the Apes, which begins lensing this month, is slated for release on June 24, 2011.
