Posting on PlayStation Forums, a Media Molecule representative has discounted recent claims that image importing would be patched into LittleBigPlanet by year's end. "[Image] importing is very much technically viable ... however there are currently no plans to introduce it for a variety of reasons," explained LBP community manager Sam_Protagonist, adding, "we'll update if that changes." Oh well, guess we'll just have to recreate our Sistine Chapel level by hand, then.
It's worth noting that LittleBigPlanet allows creators using PlayStation Eye cameras to snap and import images of, well, anything. Just remember what Uncle Ben said: "With great power, comes great responsibility."

Alex Evans (keynote speaker at GameCity) did say it was coming to the PSP in one form or another, though I can't remember if it said as was part of the Q&A; or to someone afterwards.

Now you can't import pictures of your junk. It's a sad day for all involved.

Don't despair, there are a million other ways for you to share your "LittleBig" penis with the rest of the world, including using of your PSEye. The question is, do we all want to see it?

Well that just sucks. I was excited this morning because I read they were adding picture importing. Now this just killed my excitement. :(

If you're lucky, Wal-Mart has the Eye of Judgment bundle for $17. I picked up a bundle a month ago. Good luck.

This is Sony saying no.
They want people to buy their almost dead PSEye.
Although I heard the Xbox 360 camera works too if you have one lying around.

I can't understand why cam peripherals never take off. The PSEye has decent resolution, nice mic array, good low light, etc. and all the tech demos looked cool.
Why doesn't anyone make anything new that uses the eye, even little PSN games?

To spur interest, MM and Sony will let file and music import happen. THey just have to...

I was the one at GameCity who asked the question about why image import wasn't yet included in LBP, I also referenced to a GamesRadar article of recreated retro levels using the EyeToy looking at a monitor. Though I plan to buy LBP no matter if it's planned or not, it's unusual for Alex Evans (the keynote speaker) to say it'll be included when someone else says otherwise.
