The SELF, Improved by Donald Spector, Chairman, and distributed by Random House, was written as an accompanying text to the College’s interdisciplinary ‘Science of Self-Improvement and Wellness’ Certificate program. The book offers guidance on how to identify and then get what you want most from life. Based on his experience as an advisor to world leaders and as one of the most prolific and successful inventors, Mr. Spector provides insight and the tools to improve and change. The Science of Self-Improvement workshops are also conducted off-site at corporations and for the general public.
The New York College Community regrets to announce the untimely passing of Steve Kaufman.
Steve was one of the greatest living artists and his work is exhibited throughout the world. He was a great philanthropist and a major donor to our College. Steve's joy of life and generosity will live in our hearts and in history through his art. We mourn his passing.

The Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
(ACAOM) has reaffirmed the accreditation of New York College’s Masters programs in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for a period of seven (7) years.
New York College has been awarded a Health Workforce Retraining grant from New York State to promote nursing retention through its proprietary program "The Science of Self Improvement and Wellness."

Massage Therapy Programs
The School of Massage Therapy offers an accredited Associate degree in Massage Therapy. This full-time or part-time curriculum offers core studies in Swedish massage, and Asian Bodywork, as well as many additional modalities needed to be competitive in today's holistic health field. The new "Fast Track" Massage degree program allows students to get into this rewarding career quickly.
New York College also offers a Bachelor degree in Advanced Asian Bodywork.

Acupuncture Program The Graduate School of Oriental Medicine offers an ACAOM accredited Acupuncture Program. This was the first such program approved in New York State. Upon completion students receive a combined Bachelor of Professional Studies/Master of Science degree in Health Sciences/Acupuncture.

The New York College 2010 Commencement Ceremony was held on Sunday May 16th. Commencement speaker and Honorary Doctorate recipient, Leonard Lauren, encouraged the graduates telling them "You have not wasted your time learning the tricks of the trade. You have learned the trade."

room only crowd. The keynote speaker
was The
Honorable Michael Balboni, the former New
York State Deputy Secretary for
Public Safety, who
told the graduates that as future
health care professionals they
are part of the solution to the
public health challenges our society
faces. Particularly in Infection
Control, an area in which the
College is very active.
The
2008 Commencement
Speaker,
the legendary tennis coach
Nick Bollettieri, received
a standing ovation after his
inspiring address about being
'Champions of Life.'
Nick also received an Honorary Doctorate from New York College for his contribution to the world of sports, fitness and wellness.
Recognized as leader and innovator in the world of sports, he has coached nine #1 players in the world, as well as a multitude of world class players. Besides being a legendary coach, he is also an accomplished author, TV commentator, and has devoted time to help underprivileged children through community based programs throughout the world.
