Church organ revived for Christmas

Hundreds turn out for 'Mitzvah Day'

Hundreds of Jewish volunteers turned out Friday for a day of volunteering all across the area - packing and delivering goody bags, writing letters to soldiers, and donating blood, and raising money for charity. The event usually is held on Christmas Day, but to avoid a conflict with the Jewish sabbath, it was moved a day earlier this year. Left, Myra Schein and Gloria Friedman work on wheelchair bags that will be donated to the Levindale convalescence home.
