A COG representative has posted in this thread Fix (PC) - Playing in Windowed Mode

In order to get the game to play in windowed mode on PC, try the following:

  • Open the directory where the game is installed (usually: C:\Program Files\Codemasters\FUEL)
  • Rightclick on the application called ‘SecuLauncher’ and create a new shortcut to this application
  • Edit the properties of the created shortcut
  • Select the “Target” field go to the right of the text and add: -W
  • Use this newly created link to launch the game
  • You’re now running in windowed mode!!
  • Launch the game through the regular shortcut to run in full screen mode or change the resolution for both fullscreen and windowed mode

I'm sorry but I simply must recommend this.
Follow the above instructions. When in free roam right click choose Camera User then Veiwport 1. Now what you've set to rotate/raise lower to the camera set your angle (default arrow keys) and the controls to lean forward/back and turn left/right move the camera forward/back and strafe left/right (default W,A,S,D). Using this you can fly, go through everything (inc. floor) and in general admire the Surroundings. To get your car back you right click and untick the option often leading to a massive fall.
This isn't a mod as it and lots of other stuff is possible simply by right clicking whike using what seems to be the official way of enabling windowed mode.

This is a confirmed che*t by using windows mode, you may want to delete this thread as per the forum rules. I won't say how but have put up a video on xfire of a chopper chase challenge.

But then people can't play in windowed mode! Something every PC game should include.

It wasn't very clever saying you won't say how to do it putting it on xfire and then having a link to your xfire in your sig.

But I never said how to do it ;-p, the video does not show what right click settings I have used as xfire does not pick that up. The video is proof it can be used to cheat , thats all.

As for the link in my sig, thats a video of the "grid jupiter" converted over to flatout2 ;-)

It always amazes me how people are STILL banging on about Flatout 2 it was a kickass game mind. I've got it on PS2 so no mods for me :-(

Until the game is patched its just going to have to be another of those things that's here to stay or not be there in the first place while we're on about it.

FUEL had a chance to become the next best arcade type racing game online to rival Flatout 2, but Asobo blew it on the online part. Now we wait for Bizarre's Blur to see if it can rival Flatout.

GFWL stole my game

WHY Codemasters, why are you using Games for Windows LIVE? - F1 will use GFWL

If ya want a taste of what it's like to race with power ups like in Blur grab ya a cheap copy of Midnight Club 2. There's a few on e-bay for under 8 bucks.

Or get the demo but I don't remember if it has the power ups or not
