via press note:
With a Dancing recap show, followed by the Season 12 premiere of DWTS Results Show leading into the series debut of Body Of Proof, ABC took first place on Tuesday evening, upsetting second-place CBS’ all-original line up by 4% in Total Viewers and by 6% in Adults 18-49. In fact, DWTS Results stood as Tuesday’s #1 TV show and Body Of Proof opened with a dominant victory in the 10 o’clock hour.
- In Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, ABC marked its 2nd strongest Tuesday performance this season.
- The Net grew its overall audience from the same night last year (3/30/10) with an all-original schedule (DWTS Results/Lost/V) by 4.6 million viewers.
From 8-9pm, ABC’s special Dancing recap show (Dancing with the Stars: The Story So Far) ran a strong #2 to CBS’ top-rated NCIS, beating NBC’s time-period regular The Biggest Loser: Couples by solid margins in viewers (+5.9 million) and young adults (+13%). The recap show ranked #1 in the time period with Women 18-34, beating NCIS by an impressive 26%.
- DWTS: The Story So Far produced the Network’s top numbers in the time period in nearly 5 months with viewers and young adults – since 11/2/10.
Soaring to the top of the 9 o’clock hour to rank as Tuesday’s #1 TV show, the season premiere of ABC’s DWTS Results Show outpaced its nearest competitor (CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles) by 3.6 million viewers and by 20% in Adults 18-49. Radio host Mike Catherwood was the first celebrity voted off the show this season.
- DWTS Results Show rose sharply over its premiere on the same night last year, surging by 31% in Total Viewers and by 40% in Adults 18-49. In fact it registered as the most-watched-ever season opener for DWTS Results Show.
- In Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, ABC posted its highest numbers in the time period since mid-November – since 11/23/10, with the Season 11 finale of DWTS.
In the 10 o’clock hour against established first-run dramas on CBS (The Good Wife) and NBC (Parenthood), ABC’s series debut of Body Of Proof opened a definitive #1 in its time period. Taking full control of the time period, ABC’s Body Of Proof beat out second-place CBS’ The Good Wife by 39% in Total Viewers and by a massive 58% in Adults 18-49.
- Generating enormous time-period improvement, Body Of Proof delivered ABC’s best results in the slot with a regular hour-long program in 6 years in Total Viewers and in 3 years in Adults 18-49 – since 3/1/05 and 3/25/08, respectively. Versus ABC’s averages with regular programming in the hour this season, Body Of Proof improved the time slot by 117% in Total Viewers and by 114% in Adults 18-49.
- ABC’s Body Of Proof qualifies as TV’s 2nd-most-watched series debut of the 2010-11 season, behind only the September premiere of CBS’ high-profile reboot of Hawaii Five-0. In addition, it was ABC’s most-watched midseason drama debut in 4 years and its top-rated among Adults 18-49 in 2 years – since 3/15/07 and 3/9/09, respectively.
is this greet rookie hope that ABC has been looking for this season? I see how it could succeed, but i was not impressed even though i,love the leadig lady of this drama!
I can’t wait to see how the usual cast of gloomy gusses try to spint BoP as bad.
There’s nothing to spin- it premiered decently in the demo. This is the premiere episode. Once we get into week two and three, etc. then that’s another matter.
JR, shut up. you’ve been spreading doom & gloom about the show all morning.
If the series can hold up with high 2′s (2.5+) the series will be doing just fine.
The next episode airs Sunday at 10. I hope the ratings improve and give Desperate Housewives a little lift also.
this was just the premiere, after all the lukewarm reviews I think it will fall steeply. it was a very conventional show and it seems like they just put a lot of other shows together to get this.
“BODY OF PROOF” was terrible. I think millions were tricked because it starred Dana, and US viewers were apparently tricked into watching it too.
T thought DWTS result show was the best in years , the bottom 3 were right on , Chris Brown performance , the troupe dancers , all were entertaining , usually i will fast forward but it was actually a good show
Body of Proof , i like it , Dana D great actress and the show was good , enough to watch again , i still which they had it as a castle spin off, it would had been great seeing the 2 shows work off each other
The lead-in for Body of Proof scored a 4.2 and yet, the show could only muster a 3.0…
More telling, the 10pm score was 3.2 and the 10:30pm score was a 2.8 and Body of Proof lost over 2 million people from 10pm to 10:30pm – that is not a good sign for the show. Those people are unlikely to return to the show next week.
I would guess a 2.4/2.5 next week for Body of Proof with about 11 million watching.
See name
I loved it. I thought it was one of the best new piolts I’ve seen in a long time. 100x better than Off The MAP. Give people time to find this show.
Maybe Chris Brown will get credit for the boost of the results show when we see a drop in the ratings next week.
I watched the pilot episode. I liked the characters and think there is plenty of potential in this series.
I won’t be watching it however because it contained nudity. Good actors and good story lines don’t need any fluffing.
Body of Proof could be the What About Brian of this season with no other new ABC dramas being renewed. I still thinK ABC should have moved B&S to wednesday nights at 10 and aired one of these new dramas after Desperate Housewives. Even if it declines over the next few weeks, I still think it has a shot.
My wife and I tried this show for the first 10 minutes because we like Dana Delaney.
We gave up and went to bed.
This show will be just like Outlaw ( Jimmy Smits). If this is the best they can do on the pilot with months of writing and rewriting then it can only go down from here.
This show will be available on DVD as ” The Complete Series” ” including the
previously unaired episodes 6 – 12.” for $9.99 by next fall.
Bad, bad show.
Dana deserves better.
I still think the show after airing 9 episodes, will be renewed. The remaining 4 episodes will be part of season 2 and ABC may order 18 episodes if they order a full season. While ABC seems to have comedy down for their network, they are in desperation of dramas, too bad CBS cant donate any of their high rated dramas that they need 2 scrap.
This show was terrific! Dana is a true star. Jeri Ryan is still hot! That Miller High Life guy was a RIOT! I hope to see more about Dana’s character’s back-story.
Many reviewers already watched several eps of BOP. They claim it improves. Pilots aren’t always the best episodes. I will be giving it 3 more eps. It needs some originality.
And DD is not the top of acting by far.even DH …..
NOF ratings premiere?
