Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria has returned to the Cathedral's ‎headquarters after ‎undergoing medical check-ups in Cairo. The state of his health was found to be relatively ‎stable.

Doctor Wahid Doos, who examined the Pope, said the Coptic Patriarch suffered from a small ‎laryngeal ulcer that will be treated by ‎medication rather than surgery. ‎

The Coptic pope could not deliver his weekly sermon on Wednesday at St ‎Mark's Coptic Orthodox ‎Cathedral due to his health problem.  ‎

Bishop Armia, the pope’s assistant, also quashed rumours that Pope Shenouda ‎would travel abroad ‎for treatment.‎
