Boundary Stone, City of Victoria

The Hong Kong Government erected six boundary stones in 1903 to mark the limits of the City of Victoria. This one on Hatton Road about 400m from its start at Kotewall Road is still in its original location. It is similar to the others in that it's height measures 98cm, tapered at the top and with the inscription "City Boundary 1903". Since the city boundary is clearly defined in the Ordinance, these stones therefore have no added legal significance except as physical markers and now as historical relics for the identification of the city boundary. The other five stones are located on Bowen Road, Wong Nai Chung Road, Old Peak Road, Pok Fu Lam Road and Victoria Road.
