Grand Slam Weekend

Concert Alert: RascalFlatts

From the Stateline to the pitcher’s line, mid-July brings Chicago area country music fans an all-star lineup of country music concerts. As the busiest week in Chicago’s country music scene, area concerts range from country music mega group, Rascal Flatts playing at Wrigley Field to local talent like The Hoyle Brothers and Springfield’s own the Gaddis Sisters.

Staring off the week is Country Thunder, now in it’s 17th Year, the four-day festival features headliners Tracy Lawrence (Wed.), Taylor Swift (Thurs.), Alan Jackson (Fri.) and Tim McGraw (Sat.) while on Saturday, Rascal Flatts along with Darius Rucker and Vince Gill will make history as the first country concert to play the Friendly Confines. If that’s not enough, catch the Zac Brown Band at Rockton Fest on Sunday.

For those who prefer to stay South of I-88, Alan Jackson will headline “Concerts for a Cause” at the Cedar Point Sportsman Club in LaSalle. Proceeds will benefit the Easter Seals Autism & Special Needs Children.
