SINGAPORE Airlines' new low-cost long-haul carrier will operate the Boeing 777-200 aircraft when it takes to the skies next year.
In an announcement on Friday, SIA said that the new start-up will initially acquire the jets from its parent airline. The aircraft will be reconfigured in a new seating layout.
No further details were provided.
The new airline, to be wholly-owned by SIA will operate under a no-frills, low-fare model serving medium and long-haul routes.
It will fly independently and be managed separately from the main carrier.
