In late-night metered-market households Saturday night, Saturday Night Live, hosted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and featuring musical guest the Dave Matthews Band (4.3 rating/11 share in metered-market households) dominated its time period.

That's below the metered-market household ratings range for SNL shows this fall, which have  typically been near a 4.7 household rating.

  1. You sure it wasn’t a rerun from 1998?

Why don’t they put SNL in primetime. It would do wonderful in the Ratings and solidify 2 days of good ratings for NBC. Plus the cast of SNL would love to get to bed earlier.

That was a good show. I loved the opening when Levitt-Gordon sang and danced to “Be a Clown”. It was very much a copy of Donald O’Connor’s performance in “Singin’ In the Rain”. Apparently Levitt-Gordon in the years since “Third Rock” has nitched out a good career in indie films.

Oops I keep saying Levitt-Gordon where it’s Gordon-Levitt. Oh well.

  5. I didn’t see the whole thing yet, but I plan to. The big thing here isn’t the contents of the show as much as the preamble; at long last the dunderheads who produce the show display signs of realizing what many of us have felt for about 2 years: Obama is dead-wrong.

The scene is hilarious, with a mix of Pulp Fiction and a Chinese press conference. It’s good to see the political knuckle-draggers have finally seen what we’ve been talking about, and maybe we can soon get things closer to normal.

Much better episode than the prior week when January Jones hosted.

  7. Roland

They dont put it in primetime as they don’t want to go up against college football/basketball/playoffs

Thought it was a funny episode. Watched the whole thing, The Reba bit and the Al Gore bit were a hoot. The Dave Matthews/Ozzie Osborne skit was hilarious too. Loved the show. Will you kiss me…..?

As far as SNL in primetime goes…how did Weekend Update on Thursdays do? I enjoyed it when it was on and would love to see it as a permanent fixture in NBC’s Thursday lineup, but it couldn’t have been getting ratings even close to what it gets on Saturdays. I’m a fan, but the quality of the past few seasons of SNL doesn’t warrant these ratings. I think that there’s just literally nothing better on TV on Saturday nights, which is a shame.
